Graphical Exam Tool (GET)

NextGen® Enterprise EHR use templates to record and store patient demographic and medical information electronically. Templates provide a simple way to enter medical information and compile patient records. All of the data entered into a template can later be used for statistical reports, document generation, and further review of the patient's information. NextGen® Enterprise EHR offers a set of predefined templates known as NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine and enables the creation of user-defined templates by system administrators. Based on the setup of a specific template or trigger, some workflows may follow those in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR modules (for example, Medications, Procedures, Problems), and some may be specific to the template. Template Types

NextGen® Enterprise EHR offers the following template groups: Template Group Description Demographics Template Demographics Popup Demographics Extended Popup Demographics Extended Popup View Demographics templates store a patient's demographic information, such as the patient's address, employer, primary and referring providers, emergency contact, and insurance information. You can customize Demographic templates to include any patient-related information needed at your facility. Note: You can set an Enterprise Preference to enable practices to edit demographic extended popup data from other practices within the enterprise. The Edit demographic ext data across enterprise preference is set in File Maintenance. Template Field Types

The following table explains the types of template fields listed in the order that they appear on the Fields toolbar. Field Description Label Labels enable you to add information to a template. You can set up a label as a header for the template or simply to enter text viewable template users. Data Entry (Edit) Data entry fields enable you to enter information into NextGen® Enterprise EHR through templates. These fields can be used to enter time, date, and numeric values, as well as user-defined text. Check Box Check boxes enable you to enter data by selecting or clearing a predefined response. Push Button You can use buttons to trigger several different actions. Launching another template or module within NextGen® Enterprise EHR is the most common purpose of buttons. Data Sheet Data sheets display data from NextGen® Enterprise EHR tables in tabular or grid format. Using NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine

NextGen® Enterprise EHR offers NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine features standard problem, diagnosis, condition, allergy, medication, and symptom lists for all specialties. Specifically designed sets of templates are available for many specialties, including Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, and Orthopedics. To maintain structural integrity and proper navigation, all templates are locked down to prevent user-defined modifications effective with NextGen 5.4.29 or later. You can do the following: Copy a locked-down template. Note: You can copy an Extended Popup template as an Extended Popup View only. You are limited to creating new triggers on fields. You cannot modify existing fields, add new fields, or copy and paste a field to the copied template. Save a locked-down under a different name and update all applicable template links to the new user-defined template. Display the locked-down with a different name at run time.
