You can execute a Patient Portal trigger on a template to: Enroll a patient on the NextGen® PxP Portal website. Schedule delayed delivery of a message to a patient enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal. Schedule a Delayed NextGen® PxP Portal Message

If the Patient Portal trigger action is Schedule Messages, you can schedule a message for future delivery to a patient enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal. This feature is available only when you compose a message or send a draft. Scheduled messages are stored in the Patient Portal > Communications > Scheduled folder in the Workflow module. Note: If chart messages are saved to a file location, the user account that runs the NextGen® Queue Processing Service needs to have write access to that file location. For more information on delayed message scheduling, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest NextGen® PxP Portal Provider Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Ask your system administrator which NextGen® Enterprise EHR template and field to use. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, select the template that contains the Patient Portal trigger, and then select OK to open it. Execute the Patient Portal trigger on the applicable field. The Patient Portal action launches windows at run time that enable you to: Set up an account for a patient on the NextGen® PxP Portal website. Schedule the future delivery of a message to a patient enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal. After a message has been scheduled, you can review and edit or delete it, if necessary. NextGen® PxP Portal is a secure Internet portal that enables patients to communicate with providers, request appointments, request prescription refills, review test results, complete online forms, view documents and statements, and access health reference information. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest NextGen® PxP Portal Provider Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Follow the applicable steps in General Trigger Setup. Select the Patient Portal action. The Patient Portal window opens.
