Set up Patient Portal Trigger

The Patient Portal action launches windows at run time that enable you to:
  • Set up an account for a patient on the NextGen® PxP Portal website.

Schedule the future delivery of a message to a patient enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal. After a message has been scheduled, you can review and edit or delete it, if necessary.

NextGen® PxP Portal is a secure Internet portal that enables patients to communicate with providers, request appointments, request prescription refills, review test results, complete online forms, view documents and statements, and access health reference information.

  1. Follow the applicable steps in General Trigger Setup.
  2. Select the Patient Portal action.
    The Patient Portal window opens.

  3. From the Actions list, select one of the following:
    • Enrollment to send an NextGen® PxP Portal enrollment invitation. The following actions are triggered depending on the patient status:
      • If the patient status is Not Enrolled and all mandatory patient information fields are filled, a NextGen® PxP Portal enrollment invitation email is sent to the patient.
      • If the patient status is Not Enrolled and if there is any missing patient information, message appears listing the fields where patient information is missing. You can select Update Now and fill the required patient information in Modify Patient Information window to send the enrollment invitation email to the patient.       • If the patient status is Pending, a message appears displaying the date and time of the enrollment request. You can select Resend Invitation to send the enrollment invitation email to the patient.
      • If the patient status is Declined or Deferred, a message appears confirming if you want to remove the patient response and send an enrollment invitation email. You can select Enroll Now to remove the patient response and send the enrollment invitation email.
    • Schedule Messages to launch the Patient Portal Message window.
  4. If necessary, set up a specific condition for the Patient Portal action to be triggered.
  5. Select OK and save your template.
