Creating an Order from a Medical Records Template

The Order-type order control field on a Medical Records template opens the Create a (Lab/Radiology/Immunizations) Order window from the Orders module. Note: You must have the applicable access rights to add a new order. Managing Orders from a Medical Records Template

The Orders Summary order control field on a Medical Records template displays a list of all orders related to the current patient from the Orders module. The orders listed and the data displayed on each order line are based on the selected predefined system or private user or practice-level filter. The first column displays an icon that identifies the order type (lab, radiology, or immunizations). Icons that identify recurring and future orders display in the fourth column. You can select the icon to view the order schedule. Practice and user-defined filters may display other information. The top toolbar displays different commands based on the selected order filter. Note: You must have the applicable access rights to add, update, or delete an order. Viewing Test Results from a Medical Records Template

The Trend Results order control field on a Medical Records template displays a Results view from the Orders module that enables you to: Review all lab test results for the current patient. Graph the values for tests that were repeated for the patient. Link to web resources for patient education, clinical decision support, and provider reference. You can display all results (default filter) or use practice-level or private user filters to view only results that meet selected criteria. Manage Orders for All Patients across a Practice

To process multiple patients within your practice, you can create an Orders Management Controls practice template in Template Editor. You can then access this template in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR as a Practice Template to view, manage, or send orders for multiple patients in their practice. This information is drawn from the Orders module. The orders listed and the data displayed on each order line are based on the selected predefined system or private user or practice-level filter. Tracking Immunizations from a Medical Records Template

The Vaccines order control field on a Medical Records template displays the recommended immunizations schedule for a patient and the status of the immunizations from the Orders module. Two tabs display different views of the immunization information: The Chart tab displays the status of the vaccines scheduled for the patient from birth through the patient's current age. Based on practice preference, the vaccines scheduled at a pediatric age can be hidden. The top pane lists each vaccine and the most recent status. It may also show the dosage sequence and status. The bottom pane displays all of the data for a selected vaccine. The Recommendation tab displays a list of standard, recommended vaccines from birth through adulthood along with the status. Enter Test Results from a Medical Records Template

The Result order control on a Medical Records template, displays the New Results Entry tab from the Orders module. This tab enables you to manually add and save test results for a lab or radiology order. It displays the order number and panel name. Note: You must have permission to add test results; otherwise, the results are not visible. To display the order number and panel name, a trigger must be set up to assign the order number to the order control field. If it is not, the New Results Entry tab is blank. For more information on order test results, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Orders Module User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Enter comments (if any) in the Panel Comment box. To enter a collection date and time, select the Coll. Date/Time field, select the list to display a calendar, and then select the applicable date and time in the calendar. Select the test result status from the Result Status list. The default is Final. Select New Result
