Tracking Immunizations from a Medical Records Template

The Vaccines order control field on a Medical Records template displays the recommended immunizations schedule for a patient and the status of the immunizations from the Orders module. Two tabs display different views of the immunization information: The Chart tab displays the status of the vaccines scheduled for the patient from birth through the patient's current age. Based on practice preference, the vaccines scheduled at a pediatric age can be hidden. The top pane lists each vaccine and the most recent status. It may also show the dosage sequence and status. The bottom pane displays all of the data for a selected vaccine. The Recommendation tab displays a list of standard, recommended vaccines from birth through adulthood along with the status. Select the Immunizations Chart or Recommendation Schedules

When you access the Immunizations module, you can select either the Chart or the Recommendation schedule. From the Orders Module, select the Immunizations tab. Either the Immunizations or Recommendation Schedule appears. To select another schedule, select either the Chart tab or the Recommendation tab. Note: The Recommendation schedule view is the system default. If you selected the Chart view on the Preferences window, the Chart view appears. View Patient's Evaluated Immunization History and Forecast

To help you determine when a patient should receive the next immunization, view a patient’s immunization history and forecasted next due immunizations from your practice’s registry on the Registry tab. If a dose is deemed invalid, the system displays this in the Evaluated Immunization History section. For example, a patient was too young to receive a certain immunization. Note: The Evaluated Immunization History section displays the same data as the Reconciliation module. The Chart view tab data, however, may not display the same data that appears on the Registry tab. When you perform the Reconciliation process, the Evaluated Immunization History data matches the data in the Chart view. In the Orders Module, select the Immunizations tab. Select the Registry tab. Select the appropriate registry. To display a patient’s Evaluated Immunization History and Immunization Forecast, select Query. After the query process completes, the system displays the patient’s immunization and forecast data

View Patient's Immunization Status

Before you begin You must ensure that you have the View access right enabled in MODULES > Medical Records > Orders in System Administrator. For more information on user access rights, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest System Administrator Guide for NextGen® Enterprise. You can view the patient's overdue vaccines, that is, vaccine series that are past due, due now, and pending. You can also open the Orders Module for more details on the patient's immunization order history. For more information on immunizations, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Immunizations Module User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window.
