Group Medical Records Templates

Group Medical Records templates enable you to save all entered data to all of the patients who belong to a specific patient group. You can enter a single instance of specific data for multiple patients at the same time. To use Group Medical Records templates, you must have at least one patient group created. The Group Template tab of the Select Template window is available only if a Group encounter is selected. Case Management Templates

Case Management templates enable you to save data related to a specific case. A Case Management template stores all information for a specific case without relation to an encounter. The Case Management tab of the Select Template window is available only if the following conditions are met: Case Management is enabled. Case View is turned on. A case is selected. View Medical Records and Demographic Templates

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. If needed, select a location and provider. Select a patient. The patient's encounters opens in the Encounter History tab. Do one of the following: Select an existing unlocked encounter. To create an encounter, select New. Note: If you are creating a patient or the patient does not have an encounter, NextGen® Enterprise EHR prompts you to create an encounter. To select a template, do one of the following: Select the Templates button on the Top toolbar. You can add the button to the toolbar if it is not visible. From the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Menu bar, select File > New > Template. The Select Template window opens. To display templates of that type, select the Medical Records (default) or Demographics tab. Note: If applicable, the Group and Case Management tabs also appear to select Group Medical Records templates and Case Management templates. In the Show section, select one of the following options: All. All of the available templates. Only the templates

View System and Practice Templates

System and Practice templates store any necessary information without relation to either a patient or an encounter. Do one of the following: From the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Menu bar, select File, and then select System\Practice Template. If available, execute a template field trigger for selecting System and Practice templates. The Select Template window opens. To open templates of that type, select the System (default) or Practice tab. In the Show section, select one of the following options: All. All of the available system or practice templates. Preferred. Only your user-defined, preferred list of templates. Yo can use the Templates Preferences feature of NextGen® Enterprise EHR to define the list of preferred templates. Categories. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR Templates from NextGen Document Management

In NextGen® Document Management, you can select NextGen® Enterprise EHR demographic and MRN templates, and then open them in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open NextGen® Document Management. Locate and open a document in the viewer. On the viewer toolbar, select a template from the list next to the Launch EHR Template button. Template Selection field Select the Launch EHR Template button. The NextGen® Enterprise EHR application opens the selected template. Template Types

NextGen® Enterprise EHR offers the following template groups: Template Group Description Demographics Template Demographics Popup Demographics Extended Popup Demographics Extended Popup View Demographics templates store a patient's demographic information, such as the patient's address, employer, primary and referring providers, emergency contact, and insurance information. You can customize Demographic templates to include any patient-related information needed at your facility. Note: You can set an Enterprise Preference to enable practices to edit demographic extended popup data from other practices within the enterprise. The Edit demographic ext data across enterprise preference is set in File Maintenance.
