Group Medical Records Templates

Group Medical Records templates enable you to save all entered data to all of the patients who belong to a specific patient group. You can enter a single instance of specific data for multiple patients at the same time. To use Group Medical Records templates, you must have at least one patient group created. The Group Template tab of the Select Template window is available only if a Group encounter is selected. View Medical Records and Demographic Templates

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. If needed, select a location and provider. Select a patient. The patient's encounters opens in the Encounter History tab. Do one of the following: Select an existing unlocked encounter. To create an encounter, select New. Note: If you are creating a patient or the patient does not have an encounter, NextGen® Enterprise EHR prompts you to create an encounter. To select a template, do one of the following: Select the Templates button on the Top toolbar. You can add the button to the toolbar if it is not visible. From the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Menu bar, select File > New > Template. The Select Template window opens. To display templates of that type, select the Medical Records (default) or Demographics tab. Note: If applicable, the Group and Case Management tabs also appear to select Group Medical Records templates and Case Management templates. In the Show section, select one of the following options: All. All of the available templates. Only the templates

View System and Practice Templates

System and Practice templates store any necessary information without relation to either a patient or an encounter. Do one of the following: From the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Menu bar, select File, and then select System\Practice Template. If available, execute a template field trigger for selecting System and Practice templates. The Select Template window opens. To open templates of that type, select the System (default) or Practice tab. In the Show section, select one of the following options: All. All of the available system or practice templates. Preferred. Only your user-defined, preferred list of templates. Yo can use the Templates Preferences feature of NextGen® Enterprise EHR to define the list of preferred templates. Categories. Not applicable. System and practice templates cannot be assigned to a category. Double-click a template to open it. Parent topic: Selecting a Template

Add a Template to a Case

The Case Management Templates enable you to save data related to a specific Case. A Case Management Template stores all information pertinent to a specific Case without a relation to an Encounter. The Case Management tab of the Select Template window is available when: The Case View Management check box is selected on the My Patient History Settings | Encounter History window. Note: Case Management Templates are practice-specific. If you enable Enterprise Case functionality, Case Management Templates are Enterprise-wide. Select a case. Select the Template button on the Top toolbar. The Select Template window with the Case Management tab opens. Select an applicable Case Management Template. Select OK. The selected template is displayed. Enter all necessary information. Save the Template. The saved Template is automatically attached to the selected case. You can review or modify the template. Case Management Setup

Setting up Case Management involves the following: Grant the necessary user rights and permissions in System Administrator. Enable Case Management in File Maintenance. Set alerts. Add case information to: Fee tickets Form and label templates from the data repository Requires a case on an encounter. Activate claim edits. Set up the Case Type Master. File in the File Maintenance. Set up and populate the Case Category, Case Contact Role, and Case Market in Master Lists in File Maintenance. Restrict user access to case management in System Administrator. If you use template editor, create the appropriate Case Management Templates in Template Editor. This involves setting the following General Options universal preferences in the System Administrator application that enable you to map template field names to case level templates: Case Mgt Case Type Category Field Case Mgt Case Type Category Item Field Case Mgt Market Field Enable consolidation of claims related to a Clinical Episode of care
