View Medical Records and Demographic Templates
- Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
- If needed, select a location and provider.
- Select a patient.
The patient's encounters opens in the Encounter History tab.
- Do one of the following:
- Select an existing unlocked encounter.
- To create an encounter, select New.
Note: If you are creating a patient or the patient does not have an encounter, NextGen® Enterprise EHR prompts you to create an encounter. - To select a template, do one of the following:
- Select the Templates button on the Top toolbar.
You can add the button to the toolbar if it is not visible.
- From the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Menu bar, select File > New > Template.
The Select Template window opens. - Select the Templates button on the Top toolbar.
- To display templates of that type, select the Medical Records (default) or Demographics tab.
Note: If applicable, the Group and Case Management tabs also appear to select Group Medical Records templates and Case Management templates.
- In the Show section, select one of the following options:
- All. All of the available templates.
Only the templates included in the template set(s) assigned to your practice appear when you select All.
- Preferred. Only your user-defined, preferred list of templates.
You can use the Templates Preferences feature of NextGen® Enterprise EHR to define the list of preferred templates.
- Categories. List of categories in a separate pane.
When you select a template, the check box is automatically selected for each category the template is currently assigned to. You can add or update category assignments if you have the Operations Right for Templates > Edit Category Selections. To add or update categories for the template, you can select the template, and then select the check box for each category to assign the template to.
Note: You cannot add Group MR templates to categories.You can also assign template categories in File Maintenance.
