Saving Template Data
NextGen® Enterprise EHR templates enable you to enter patient information into the available fields in a number of ways. After entering all of the required or available information, you can select Save on the Top toolbar to save your template. NextGen® Enterprise EHR automatically saves the template you are working with if another template is launched from it. You can close a template by selecting the Close button on the Top toolbar or the X button. If you did not save your template before closing a template, NextGen® Enterprise EHR opens the Save Template message. Note: If you enter out-of-range data in a numeric/decimal field, an error message appears when you leave the field or try to save the template. You can correct your entry to be within the acceptable range. If you are working with a Group template, the data you enter and save is committed to all of the charts for patients who are members of the specific patient group. Parent topic: Using Templates

Delete a Template
Before you begin Before you delete a template: Close the template you want to delete, if it is open. Log off from NextGen® Enterprise EHR if you have created a new template. You can delete either a user-defined template or NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine to remove it from the templates_table in the database. The deleted template does not display on an encounter or in the list of templates available for selection. CAUTION: You cannot delete a template if it has been used in the patient's chart. You cannot re-use the name of a deleted template on a new template unless you remove all references to the deleted template from the database. Any native field with or without data that was created on the template is not deleted if it was saved to a NextGen® Enterprise EHR encounter at run time. The field remains in the fields_list table in the database. If a field on the deleted template is shared with another template, it is also retained. From the Menu bar, select File, and then select Delete
