Run Service Item Lookup

You can execute a Service Item Lookup trigger on a template to return a list of service items (for example, prosthetic and orthotic L-Codes) and their associated prices that are stored in the applicable Service Item Master (SIM) library. The service items returned are based on the current encounter date, location, and payer.
  1. In the search phrase input field on your template, enter one of the following:
    • Specific procedure code.
    • Partial procedure code.
    • Partial description of a procedure code.
  2. Select the field (such as a button) that triggers the service item lookup.
A window displays the search results.

If you entered a specific procedure code that produces an exact match, one service item object is returned. If you entered a partial procedure code or partial description that results in multiple service items, the list contains all matching service item objects. Each service item object provides the service item code, description, and price.

  3. To select each applicable service item, do one of the following:
    • To select multiple adjacent service items, select the first item, and then select SHIFT as you select the last item in the group.
    • To select multiple nonadjacent service items, select the first item, and then select CTRL as you select each item you want to include.
Each selected service item appears on a data grid on your template.
  4. Select Save.
