Service Item Library Maintenance Field Descriptions

Field	Description
Search	You can search for any specific SIM. If there are less than 50 SIM items defined in the SIM Library, all active SIM items automatically appear in the Search list. If there are more than 50 SIM items defined in the SIM Library, the SIM codes do not appear automatically. You must manually enter the SIM code or the first few digits of the code in the Search field. To find a specific SIM, enter the SIM code. To list all existing SIMs, enter an asterisk.
SIM Library Name	SIM Library name is a required field.
Service Item	For a new SIM, you can enter meaningful service item numbers and descriptions to correlate to the appropriate CPT4 code. This field is required. When you search for a SIM, this field displays the SIM that you search for. You can also select the open menu button, select New, and then enter a new service item Number.
Hide SIM	You can select this check box to hide the SIM. In the search results, the Hidden icon appears next to the hidden SIMs. Users cannot see or use hidden SIMs.
General	You can enter most of the SIM details here.
Other	Pertinent data about the SIM that does not necessarily go in any other field.
Payer	Defines all pertinent payer information for the SIM.
Labels	You can define the labels for the RVU fields.
Notes/Significant Events	Notes are saved at the library and are applied to all SIMs in the library. Significant Events display all pricing updates made to the selected SIM from SIM Pricing Templates. It displays only the events associated with the selected SIM.
Drugs	Provides National Drug Code (NDC) information.

SIM Pricing Template Library Field Descriptions

Use the following table as a reference when you add or modify service items. Section Description Search Located on the left side of the dialog box, this section enables you to search for specific SIM. If there are fewer than 50 SIM items defined in the SIM Library, all active SIM items automatically display in the Search list. If there are more than 50 SIM items defined in the SIM Library, the SIM codes do not automatically display. Instead, you must manually enter the SIM code or the first few digits of the code in the Search field. To find a specific SIM, enter the SIM code. To list all existing SIMs, enter an asterisk. Service Swap Library Field Descriptions

Field Description Search Searches for any specific Service Item (SIM) and all active SIM items automatically appear in the Search list, you must manually enter the SIM code, or the first few digits of the code in Search. SIM Library Name SIM Library Name is a mandatory field that denotes the name of the SIM library. Service Swap Item Service swap item numbers and descriptions that correspond to the appropriate SIM code. When searching for a SIM, this field displays the SIM searched for. This is a mandatory field. Org SIM Original SIM number. Swap SIM SIM number to be swapped with original SIM number. Effective Date The date you want the SIM codes to become active. Add a New Service Item

On the Service Item Library Maintenance window, select open menu button , then select New. Enter a CPT code or select on the to search for the CPT code. If you search for the code, the CPT4 Code Search window opens. Under Search Method, select either Code or Description to determine how you want the search results to list, then enter the search data either by code or description. Select the appropriate code, and then select OK. The service item number and default description automatically populate. The default description for the SIM is the same as the CPT4 code description. You can change the description if necessary. For example, if the description Office/outpatient visit, new, problem focused is not meaningful to the staff, you could change it to simply Office Visit New Patient. Enter the information on the General tab, including effective date range and price. Required fields display with red labels. Add SIM Groups

In File Maintenance, select Libraries, and then select Service Items. The Service Items List window opens. Select the applicable library, right-click and select SIM Groups. The SIM Groups List window opens. To create a new SIM Group, select open menu button , and select New. The SIM Group Maintenance window opens. In SIM Group field, enter a short name of the SIM Group. In the Description field, enter a description of the SIM Group. To add a new SIM, select Open Folder and search for the SIM. To add the item to the group, use the blue Include arrow to move the item to the Available list. To remove a SIM item from the Available list by selecting the SIM item and then the blue Exclude arrow. The indicates the search type. If the icon is listed next to the SIM column, the system will search by SIM number. You can select the Description column, which enables you to search by the service item description. The service item must already exist in the Service Item Library before you can add it

Service Items Library

The Service Items library is the center of the billing functions. Within the Service Items library you can set up CPT4 codes for each practice, along with prices, and claim form designations. You can also group Service Items together under one main number or name. Libraries are available enterprise-wide, but each practice must designate which Service Items library to use by selecting it in the Libraries Practice Preferences. You can generate the Service Item Library Listing report from the Service Items library. SIM Exception Setup Field Descriptions

You can use the following table when setting up SIM Exceptions. Field Description SIM Exception Name Enter a name for the SIM Exception that describes the group of exceptions. If there are fewer than 50 SIM items defined in the SIM Library, all active SIM items automatically load into the grayed-out section of the spreadsheet area from the SIM Library. If there are more than 50 SIM items defined in the SIM Library, the SIM codes do not automatically load into the spreadsheet. Instead, you must manually enter the SIM code or the first few digits of the code in the Filter Criteria box, which loads the spreadsheet with SIM items that match your entry. Hide Exception Select this check box if you want to hide the SIM Exception in the SIM Exceptions List.
