Modify Existing SIM Groups

In File Maintenance > Libraries select Service Items. The Service Items List window opens. Select the applicable library, right-click and select SIM Groups. The SIM Groups List window opens. Double-click the SIM Group. The SIM Group Maintenance window opens. To modify a SIM or add a new SIM, select Open Folder. The Service Items window opens. Do one of the following: To add a new SIM, search for the SIM. To add the item to the group, use the blue Include arrow to move the item to the Available list. The indicates the search type. If the icon is listed next to the SIM column, the system will search by SIM number. You can select the Description column, which enables you to search by the service item description. The service item must already exist in the Service Item Library before you can add it to the group. To remove a SIM item from the Available list by selecting the SIM item and then the blue Exclude arrow. Select OK to return to the SIM Group Maintenance window. If you want the SIM

Configure SIM Groups to Display for Location/Payer Configurations

You can set up a SIM group so that it can only be entered or displayed during charge entry only when the location and payer for the encounter match certain location/payer configurations. Open the SIM Groups library. The SIM Groups List window opens. Select open menu , then select Location/Payer Configurations. The Configure Payer/Locations window opens. Under Service Location, select the location to associate with the SIM group. Do one of the following: Select open menu button , then select Add to select one or more payers. You can select All Payers. Note: To delete a payer from the list, select the payer name, then selecte Open Menu , then select Delete. Parent topic: SIM Groups

Create SIM Groups in a Service Item Library

Orders module charge posting also looks at SIM Groups which are set up in File Maintenance in the Service Item Libraries. You must first define a Service Item library, and add service items to the library before you can create a SIM group. Select File Maintenance > Libraries > Service Items. Right-click the Service Item library for which you want to create a SIM Group. The Service Items List window opens. Select SIM Groups from the list. Select the open menu button, and then select New. The SIM Group Maintenance window opens. Define the SIM Group ID and Description. SIM Group. This is a numeric or alphabetic ID that you use to identify this SIM Group. Description. The description you choose for this SIM Group. Service Item #. This is the list of service items contained in this group. Select in the Service Item #. Select the SIM ID to have the focus on that parameter. Put in the SIM ID you want in the Search Criteria in the Available pane. Select the blue Right Arrow to move the item to

Set Up a New SIM Exception

In File Maintenance, select Libraries menu > Service Items. The Service Item Libraries window opens. Select a Service Item Library. Select Open Menu. Select SIM Exceptions from the shortcut menu. The SIM Exceptions List window opens. Select open menu button , and then select New. The SIM Exception Maintenance window opens. Complete the window by entering the exception information. For descriptions of the fields, see SIM Exception Setup Field Descriptions. Note: The SIM Exception fields in which you enter the exceptions are located in the spreadsheet section of the dialog box. Use the TAB key or arrow keys to move the insertion point to the applicable cell for your entry. Right-click on a cell to display the shortcut menu, then you can delete an entry by the cell or row. If your library has fewer than 50 SIM items, press the TAB key or arrow keys to move to the next SIM item that you want to enter an exception for. Configure SIM Library

Open a SIM Pricing Template library. In the SIM Library Configurations section, select open menu button and then select New. The SIM Library Configuration Maintenance window opens. In the SIM Library Configuration Name field, enter a name for the configuration. Select Open Folder to select the SIM libraries you want to apply the configuration to Include/Exclude steps. If you want the SIM Library Configuration to be included in the SIM Pricing Template BBP - Auto Update job in the NextGen BBP application, select the Send to BBP check box. If you want the update to insert new service items to a library when they do not currently exist, select the Add items from SIM Pricing Template to SIM libraries if they do not exist check box. New rows will be added. If the check box is cleared, existing service items will be updated and no new items will be added. In the Filter Criteria section, enter attributes that limit which SIMs that File Maintenance updates. All SIMs that meet the requirements
