Copy Fields within the Same Template

You can copy and paste active text, check box, edit (data entry), or radio button fields with or without triggers within the same template only. The fields can be native to the template or shared from another template. When you right-click a field or in the template body, a menu displays the available copy and paste options: Copy Field. Copies the field only. Copy Field with Triggers. Copies the field and its triggers. Paste Field. Pastes the field if you selected Copy Field. Pastes the field and its triggers if you selected Copy Field with Triggers. Alternatively, you can use keyboard commands to copy a selected field and any associated triggers to a new field on the same template. You can copy and paste existing local template fields the same way you do other fields. You can also copy a field with or without triggers as a local field using a keyboard command. Insert a Patient Image Field

Drag the Patient Image icon from the Fields toolbar to the template design area where you want to place it. The Insert Patient Image window opens. In the Name text box, enter the name you want to assign. To reposition the field on the template, enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current vertical and horizontal coordinates displayed in the Position boxes. To resize the field, enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current dimensions displayed in the Size boxes. In the Style section, select the Border, Client Edge, or Modal Frame check box. To hide the patient image field when the template is opened, select the Hidden check box. Select OK and save your template. At run time, the patient image scanned through the Patient Information window is automatically embedded into the field. Parent topic: Template Fields

Adjust Field Properties and Layout

After you have inserted a field on your template, you can view and update its properties. You can also visualize field properties and resize, move, and align fields. Do one of the following: To display the shortcut menu, right-click the field, and then select Properties. From the Template Editor Menu bar, select View, and then select Properties. The Properties window for that field appears. To update properties, see the topic on inserting that field type and to the topics on Set General Properties for Multiple Fields and Field Font and Color Properties. Insert Check Box

When you are logged in as KBM admin in Template Editor, you can modify the properties of NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine templates. In Template Editor, drag CheckBox from the Fields toolbar to the template design area where you want to place it. The Insert Checkbox window opens. In Table, the template name appears if the table is saved. Do one of the following: To create fields that are native to the table associated with this template, leave Table blank. To share fields with another template, select a template from Table. To create a local template field, select local from Table. In Field, do one of the following. To create a new field, enter the name in Field. You can use up to 30 alphanumeric characters. Do not begin the name with a number or underscore or include any spaces. To share a field from another template, select that template from Table and then from Field, select the field you want to use. Copy a Field without Triggers

You can copy only active text, check box, data entry (edit), or radio button fields. The fields can be native to the template or shared from another template. You can copy existing local fields the same way you do other fields. To create a local field from a copied field, see Copy a Field as a Local Field. Do one of the following: To display copy options, right-click the field, and then select Copy Field. In the template, right-click where you want to place the copied field, and select Paste Field. Select the field, and then select CTRL+C. In the template, select where you want to place the copied field, and select CTRL+V. The window for inserting the selected field type appears. For example, if you select a data entry field, the Insert Data Entry window opens. Note: You cannot change the Table name. If you copy a shared field, the table name for the new field is taken from the native template (the template currently open), not the source template for the shared field. In the Field box
