Insert an Active Image Field

To enable an active image, set up triggers for each of the active regions within an active image. Drag the Active Image icon from the Fields toolbar to the template design area where you want to place it. The Insert Active Image window opens. From the Image list, select the image you want. A preview of the selected image appears. Note: All active images must be created using the Image Region Editor Utility. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Image Region Editor Utility Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To reposition the field on the template, enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current vertical and horizontal coordinates displayed in the Position boxes. Note: The Auto Size check box is selected permanently by default. To hide the active image when the template is opened, select the Hidden check box. Select the check box for the border Style. Insert Check Box

When you are logged in as KBM admin in Template Editor, you can modify the properties of NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine templates. In Template Editor, drag CheckBox from the Fields toolbar to the template design area where you want to place it. The Insert Checkbox window opens. In Table, the template name appears if the table is saved. Do one of the following: To create fields that are native to the table associated with this template, leave Table blank. To share fields with another template, select a template from Table. To create a local template field, select local from Table. In Field, do one of the following. To create a new field, enter the name in Field. You can use up to 30 alphanumeric characters. Do not begin the name with a number or underscore or include any spaces. To share a field from another template, select that template from Table and then from Field, select the field you want to use. In Type, do one of the following: Select Text for the alphabetic characters. Selec

Insert a Sub Template Field

You can paste a sub template to a template from the Sub Templates pane. Drag the Sub Template icon from the Fields toolbar to the template design area where you want to place it. The Insert Sub Template window opens. In the Name text box, enter the name you want to assign. To reposition the field on the template, enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current vertical and horizontal coordinates displayed in the Position boxes. You can also drag the sub template to another position. Note: The size of the sub template is preset. Select OK. Save your template. Parent topic: Template Fields

Insert an Order Control Field

You can use an order control field on a template in two ways: Insert the field on a Medical Records template to enable a user to view or enter lab, radiology, or immunizations order or result information in NextGen® Enterprise EHR at run time. Insert the field on a Practice or Practice Popup template to enable a user to manage all patient orders across a practice and update practice order filters in NextGen® Enterprise EHR at run time. Note: You can also use the Patient Lab Order trigger to order lab or radiology tests. You can use both the Patient Lab Order trigger and an order control field on a template. When the trigger is executed, the information displayed from the order control field can be refreshed to include the new lab or radiology order. Drag the Order Control icon from the Fields toolbar to the template design area where you want to place it. The Insert Order Control window opens. Note: You may need to enlarge your template to make room for the field. In the Name text box,

Insert a Label Field

Drag the Label icon from the Fields toolbar to the template design area where you want to place it. The Insert a Label window opens. Note: The label name is automatically assigned in the Name box. You can enter a name of your choice. If necessary, select a mask from the Mask list. Enter the text to appear on the label in the Caption window. Note: Instead of entering the caption here, you can use in-place caption editing to enter the caption directly in the field after you have created it. To reposition and resize the field on the template, do the following: Enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current vertical and horizontal coordinates displayed in the Position boxes. Enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current dimensions displayed in the Size boxes. To do the following, select the check box: To apply a style to the label, select the applicable Style check box. The Preview window shows you what each label style looks like. Insert a Web Browser Field

Drag the Web Browser icon from the Fields toolbar to the template design area where you want to place it. The Insert Web Browser window opens. Note: You may need to enlarge your template to make room for the field. In the Name box, enter the name for the field or select it from the list. If a web browser field is on a sub template, select the Make Public check box to make it available to the template that the sub template is placed on. In the URL box, enter the website or web-supported type file to be loaded by default when the template is accessed at run time. Do one of the following: Enter the URL or select the variable or template field that supplies the URL from the list. To display the NextGen ® Dashboard web application, select Patient Dashboard from the list. To browse for a specific file on your network, select the ellipsis button. The Select Default URL window opens. Locate and select the file you want to use. To find a file quickly, enter the first letter of the file name in
