Insert a Label Field
- Drag the Label icon from the Fields toolbar to the template design area where you want to place it.
The Insert a Label window opens.Note: The label name is automatically assigned in the Name box. You can enter a name of your choice.
- If necessary, select a mask from the Mask list.
- Enter the text to appear on the label in the Caption window.
Note: Instead of entering the caption here, you can use in-place caption editing to enter the caption directly in the field after you have created it.
- To reposition and resize the field on the template, do the following:
- Enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current vertical and horizontal coordinates displayed in the Position boxes.
- Enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current dimensions displayed in the Size boxes.
- To do the following, select the check box:
- To apply a style to the label, select the applicable Style check box.
The Preview window shows you what each label style looks like. You can apply one or more styles.
- To enable the label through tabbing, select the Tab stop check box.
- To hide the label when the template is opened, select the Hidden check box.
- To have NextGen® Enterprise EHR automatically size the label, select the Auto Size check box.
- To enable the Click and List Pick events and resulting actions at run time, select the Enable Click check box.
- To underline the label text, select the Underline check box.
- To apply a style to the label, select the applicable Style check box.
- Select Script It.
The Script Clipboard window opens with the script of the label.
To copy the script to clipboard, select Copy to Clipboard.
- To set up user-defined properties for the font name, size, and style and the text and background colors for the label, select the Font and Color tab.
The selections you make, appear in the Preview window.
- After entering field properties, select OK and save your template.
