Insert Check Box

When you are logged in as KBM admin in Template Editor, you can modify the properties of NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine templates.
  1. In Template Editor, drag CheckBox from the Fields toolbar to the template design area where you want to place it.
    The Insert Checkbox window opens.

  2. In Table, the template name appears if the table is saved. Do one of the following:
    • To create fields that are native to the table associated with this template, leave Table blank.
    • To share fields with another template, select a template from Table.
    • To create a local template field, select local from Table.
  3. In Field, do one of the following.
    • To create a new field, enter the name in Field.

      You can use up to 30 alphanumeric characters. Do not begin the name with a number or underscore or include any spaces.

    • To share a field from another template, select that template from Table and then from Field, select the field you want to use.
  4. In Type, do one of the following:
    • Select Text for the alphabetic characters.
    • Select Numeric for the numeric values.

      You can enter only integers or whole numbers. NextGen Healthcare recommends that you use numeric as a standard selection for check boxes.

  5. To change the length of the field, enter the value in Length.
    The default value is set to 0. For the Text type, you must set the value as 1.
  6. To position the field on the template, enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current vertical and horizontal coordinates displayed in Position.
  7. To set the size of the check box and the associated caption, clear Auto Size and enter the dimensions in Size.
    Auto Size is selected by default to automatically set the size.
  8. In Align, select Left, Center, or Right alignment.
  9. In Style, do one of the following:
    • Select Normal to enter data.
    • Select Read-Only to display data.

      You can enter data through the use of triggers but cannot be entered in.

    • Select Required to enable saving the entire template.
  10. In Caption, enter the text.
    By default, the caption text appears on the right of the check box.
    • To position the caption to the left of the check box, select Left Text.
  11. In Values, do the following:
    • For Text, enter an upper-case Y for Checked or N for Unchecked.
    • For Numeric, enter 1 for Checked and 0 for Unchecked.
  12. To hide the field, select Hidden.
  13. To create a check box that can be in a checked, unchecked, or null state, select Tri-state.
  14. Enter Comment,if any.
  15. Select Script It.
    The Script Clipboard window opens with the script of the label.
  16. To copy the script to clipboard, select Copy to Clipboard.
  17. For additional tabs, do the following:
    1. To set up properties for the font name, size, style, text, color, and background colors, select the Font and Color tab.
    2. For options to copy data forward, use no zero decimals, attach audio or a picklist, or create a tooltip, select the Advanced tab.
    3. In the Field Attributes tab, the added attribute and values from the Attribute Setup appears.
      • In Values, you can select the values from the list for the respective attributes.
      • Boolean type attributes have True or False option and numeric type attribute have integers from the minimum value to maximum value defined for the attribute.
  18. Select OK and then select Save.
