Insert a Web Browser Field

  1. Drag the Web Browser icon from the Fields toolbar to the template design area where you want to place it.
    The Insert Web Browser window opens.

  2. In the Name box, enter the name for the field or select it from the list.
  3. If a web browser field is on a sub template, select the Make Public check box to make it available to the template that the sub template is placed on.
  4. In the URL box, enter the website or web-supported type file to be loaded by default when the template is accessed at run time.
  5. Do one of the following:
    • Enter the URL or select the variable or template field that supplies the URL from the list.
    • To display the NextGen ® Dashboard web application, select Patient Dashboard from the list.
    • To browse for a specific file on your network, select the ellipsis button.

      The Select Default URL window opens.

    • Locate and select the file you want to use. To find a file quickly, enter the first letter of the file name in the File name field.

      A list displays the group of files that begin with that letter. You can double-click the file to enter it in the URL box.

  6. To reposition the field on the template, enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current vertical and horizontal coordinates displayed in the Position boxes.
  7. To resize the field, enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current dimensions displayed in the Size boxes.
  8. To hide the web browser field when the template is opened, select the Hidden check box.
  9. To enable users to view secure content when a pop-up window is launched from a web page, select the Maintain Session ID for Popups check box.
    If you do not select this check box, you cannot view secure content in the pop-up window.
  10. Select OK and save your template.
