Change Field Color Trigger

The Change Field Color action enables you to change: Text color for label, active text, data entry (edit), and check box fields Background color for a data entry field Change the color of multiple fields at a time on a template Assign the color from a template field or variable at run time instead of during trigger setup. Note: Set colors for selected and unselected active text in the Values tab on the Insert or Edit Active Text window. Follow the applicable steps in General Trigger Setup. Select the Change Field Color action. The Change Field Color window lists all of the template fields that can change field color. From the Available Template Fields pane, select each field for which you want to change color, and select Add. The selected field displays in the Fields to Change pane and the OK button is enabled. Change Field Style Trigger

The Change Field Style action enables you to change the style of the selected data entry (edit), check box, radio button, and note fields. Depending on the field type, you can apply the Normal, Read-Only, Required, or Required Read style. You can select one or multiple fields at a time using a single trigger. For example, you can set up triggers to change the field style to Read-Only for all fields containing lab results after these fields are populated. Follow the applicable steps in General Trigger Setup. Select the Change Field Style action. The Change Field Style window lists all of the template fields that can change field style. In the Available Template Fields pane, select each field for which you want to change style, and select Add. The selected field displays in the Fields to Change pane and the OK button is enabled. Enable Control Trigger

The Enable Control action enables the selected field(s) on a template at run time. You cannot enable the following types of fields: web browser, patient image, graph, lab order, sub template, and GET component. Note: If you enable a collapsible panel, all fields on it are also enabled. You can disable specific fields on the panel separately. All other fields on the panel remain enabled. Follow the steps in General Trigger Setup. Select the Enable Control action. The Enable Template Field window opens. From the Available Template Fields pane, select each field you want to enable, and then select Add. The selected field appears in the Fields to Enable pane and the OK button is enabled. You can select the multiple fields by selecting the Ctrl button. Note: You can remove the selected fields by selecting the fields from Fields to Enable pane and selecting the Remove button. From the Filter list, select the required filters. The Available Template Fields pane now only displays the selected

Set up Hide Item Trigger

You can hide one or more selected fields on the template at run time using hide item trigger. Follow the steps in General Trigger Setup. Select the Hide Item action. The Hide Template Field window opens. From Available Template Fields, select each field you want to hide, and then select Add. The selected fields appear in the Fields to Hide pane. You can select the multiple fields by selecting the Ctrl button. You can remove the selected fields by selecting the fields from the Fields to Hide pane and selecting the Remove button. From Filter, select the required filters. The Available Template Fields pane now displays the selected filter. Note: If you have selected multiple fields to set up this trigger, the fields are automatically selected. The field that triggers the action is not included. You can remove any of the selected fields and add others. Select Script It. The Script Clipboard window opens with the script of the label. To copy the script to clipboard, you can select Copy to C

Change a Trigger

You can edit the field, event, action, or condition for an existing trigger. The edit function also provides a quick way for you to add a trigger based on an existing, simple trigger. This capability cannot be used for certain triggers that are tied to cross-reference tables (for example, the Assign Field Value trigger tied to the trig_mf_xref table). To open the Triggers window, do one of the following: Right-click anywhere on the template, and then select Triggers from the shortcut menu. On the Main toolbar, select Triggers. From the View menu, select Triggers. Select a specific field within the template. Select Triggers, select View > Triggers, or right-click the selected field, and then select Triggers from the shortcut menu. Note: The Copy and Paste buttons appear on the Triggers window only when you select a specific field on the template. In the Triggers window, select the trigger you want to change. Information entered for the selected trigger appear in the Trigger, Condition,

Insert a Web Browser Field

Drag the Web Browser icon from the Fields toolbar to the template design area where you want to place it. The Insert Web Browser window opens. Note: You may need to enlarge your template to make room for the field. In the Name box, enter the name for the field or select it from the list. If a web browser field is on a sub template, select the Make Public check box to make it available to the template that the sub template is placed on. In the URL box, enter the website or web-supported type file to be loaded by default when the template is accessed at run time. Do one of the following: Enter the URL or select the variable or template field that supplies the URL from the list. To display the NextGen ® Dashboard web application, select Patient Dashboard from the list. To browse for a specific file on your network, select the ellipsis button. The Select Default URL window opens. Locate and select the file you want to use. To find a file quickly, enter the first letter of the file name in
