Change Field Style Trigger

The Change Field Style action enables you to change the style of the selected data entry (edit), check box, radio button, and note fields. Depending on the field type, you can apply the Normal, Read-Only, Required, or Required Read style. You can select one or multiple fields at a time using a single trigger.

For example, you can set up triggers to change the field style to Read-Only for all fields containing lab results after these fields are populated.

  1. Follow the applicable steps in General Trigger Setup.
  2. Select the Change Field Style action.

The Change Field Style window lists all of the template fields that can change field style.
  3. In the Available Template Fields pane, select each field for which you want to change style, and select Add.
The selected field displays in the Fields to Change pane and the OK button is enabled. You can select the multiple fields by selecting the Ctrl button.

You can remove the selected fields by selecting the fields from Fields to Change pane and select Remove.

  4. From the Filter list, select the required filters.
The Available Template Fields pane now only displays the selected filter.
  5. From the Style list, select Normal, Read-Only, Required, or Required Read.
  6. Select the Script It button.
The Script Clipboard window displays with the script of the label.

To copy the script to clipboard, select the Copy to Clipboard button.

  7. Select OK to save the information and close the window.
  8. If necessary, set up a specific condition for the Change Field Style action to be triggered.
  9. Select OK and save your template.
