Copy a Field with Triggers

You can copy only active text, check box, data entry (edit), or radio button fields. The fields can be native to the template or shared from another template. You can copy existing local fields the same way you do other fields. For information on copying and pasting triggers only, see Copy a Trigger. For another method of copying a field with triggers, see Copy Triggers from the Triggers window. To create a local field from a copied field, see Copy a Field as a Local Field. Do one of the following: To display copy options, right-click the field, and then select Copy Field with Triggers. In the template, right-click where you want to place the copied field, and then select Paste Field. Select the field, and select CTRL+C. In the template, select where you want to place the copied field, and then select CTRL+V. The window for inserting the selected field type appears. For example, if you select a data entry field, the Insert Data Entry window opens. Note: You cannot change the Table name

Local Template Fields

On a template, you can temporarily set up the following types of fields as local fields that are not saved to the database: Data entry (edit) Check box Radio button You can set up triggers for local template fields as you do for non-local fields. Note: The Template Editor in NextGen® Enterprise EHR Admin mode enables you to reconfigure text fields to support default actions. The length of the text field types defaults to 1 instead of 0 for text box, check box, and radio button fields. You can select local from the Table list on the Insert window for each of these fields. Copy a Field With Triggers as a Local Field

You can copy a native or shared field with or without triggers to use it as a local field for temporary work on a template. A local field is not saved to the database. Note: You can copy only check box, data entry (edit), or radio button fields as local fields. To display copy options, right-click the field, and then select Copy Field with Triggers. Select CTRL+L. The window for inserting the selected field type appears. For example, if you select a radio button field, the Insert Radio Button window opens. Note: The Table name is automatically set to local. If you are copying a radio button field, enter a new name or select an existing name for the radio button in the Field box and the field value in the Value box. Retain the copied field properties or modify any of them as needed. Select OK. The field appears in front of the copied field on the template. The Paste Triggers window opens. The Find box contains the name of the field being copied, and the Replace With box contains the nam

Insert an Active Image Field

To enable an active image, set up triggers for each of the active regions within an active image. Drag the Active Image icon from the Fields toolbar to the template design area where you want to place it. The Insert Active Image window opens. From the Image list, select the image you want. A preview of the selected image appears. Note: All active images must be created using the Image Region Editor Utility. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Image Region Editor Utility Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To reposition the field on the template, enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current vertical and horizontal coordinates displayed in the Position boxes. Note: The Auto Size check box is selected permanently by default. To hide the active image when the template is opened, select the Hidden check box. Select the check box for the border Style.
