Copy a Field With Triggers as a Local Field

You can copy a native or shared field with or without triggers to use it as a local field for temporary work on a template. A local field is not saved to the database. Note: You can copy only check box, data entry (edit), or radio button fields as local fields. To display copy options, right-click the field, and then select Copy Field with Triggers. Select CTRL+L. The window for inserting the selected field type appears. For example, if you select a radio button field, the Insert Radio Button window opens. Note: The Table name is automatically set to local. If you are copying a radio button field, enter a new name or select an existing name for the radio button in the Field box and the field value in the Value box. Retain the copied field properties or modify any of them as needed. Select OK. The field appears in front of the copied field on the template. The Paste Triggers window opens. Copy Fields within the Same Template

You can copy and paste active text, check box, edit (data entry), or radio button fields with or without triggers within the same template only. The fields can be native to the template or shared from another template. When you right-click a field or in the template body, a menu displays the available copy and paste options: Copy Field. Copies the field only. Copy Field with Triggers. Copies the field and its triggers. Paste Field. Pastes the field if you selected Copy Field. Pastes the field and its triggers if you selected Copy Field with Triggers. Alternatively, you can use keyboard commands to copy a selected field and any associated triggers to a new field on the same template. You can copy and paste existing local template fields the same way you do other fields. You can also copy a field with or without triggers as a local field using a keyboard command.
