At run time, data sheets are prevented from loading more data than can be allocated. The limit is 200,000 cells of data including headers. If the limit is exceeded, a message window appears.
- Drag the Data Sheet icon from the Fields toolbar to the template design area where you want to place it.
The
Insert Data Sheet window opens. This example shows the data sheet options that are available for an Encounter Sheet. Other options appear for different data sheet types and tables.
- From the Type list, select the type of data sheet you need to insert.
The default type is based on the template type. For example, if the data sheet is on a
Medical Records template, the default data sheet type is Encounter Sheet.
- If you select Relationship, the View list appears. You can select the relationship of the person to the patient from the list.
- For instructions on setting up a data sheet using a stored procedure, see Stored Procedure Data Sheets.
- For instructions on setting up a data sheet for a problem note, see Problem Note Data Sheets.
- If the Type is Stored Procedure, the Name field is enabled. You can enter your name in the name field.
Note: The Name field cannot be modified once it is added.
- From the Tables list, select the applicable table.
Table availability is based on the selected data sheet type.
Note: To launch an Extended Popup template from a data grid, select the template table.
You do not need to select a table for the Orders Summary Sheet.
After you select the table, the Fields window displays a list of all available fields for the selected table.
- Select each field to be used in the data sheet.
- To select multiple adjacent fields, select the first field, and then select Shift as you select the last field in the group.
- To select multiple nonadjacent fields, select the first field, and then select Ctrl as you select each field you want to include.
- To move your selections to the Data Sheet Fields window, select Add.
- You can make the following changes to the selected fields in the Data Sheet Fields window:
- To remove a field, select it, and then select Remove.
- To clear all selections, select Clear.
- To rearrange the field order, select a field, and then select Move Up or Move Down.
- To change the Column Header name for a field, select the field, select Edit Label, enter the new name in the text box, and then select off the field.
- To add a separator at the top of a Data Flow Sheet, select Separator .
- Do the following:
- Select the applicable check boxes for data sheet options.
The options that appear, depend on the selected data sheet type and table.
- Set up the Sort Column order.
Note: You cannot sort columns for a stored procedure data grid in Template Editor and users cannot sort them at run time.
- Enter or select a Row Display Limit to specify the number of rows a data sheet displays before scrolling is required.
- To change the default width (100) of columns on your data sheet, do the following:
- To update the Mask on your data sheet, do the following:
Edit masks define any characters that should be prefilled in the field; for example, a dash and parentheses in a phone number. Masks are represented by "#" symbols that are replaced by the entered character.
Note: The masking is available for the Data Grids, Summary Sheets, and Stored Procedures types.
- In the Data Sheet Fields window, select the fields, and then select the Sort as Date check box.
The Sort as Date column is updated as Y.
- To display the text in the first column of the data sheet in a different font from the other columns, select Font in the 1st Column Font field.
The
Font window opens. Arial is the standard default font.
- Select Script It.
The
Script Clipboard window opens with the script of the label.
- To copy the script to clipboard, select Copy to Clipboard.
- To reposition and resize the field on the template, do the following:
- Enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current vertical and horizontal coordinates displayed in the Position boxes.
- Enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current dimensions displayed in the Size boxes.
- Do the following for additional tabs:
- Select OK and save your template.
