Assign Rights to User Groups

Select a user group, and then select the Rights tab. Select the permission group or category. To view a sub-group, select the button. In the Access Rights box, select the rights to apply for the selected permissions group or subgroup. Select the Update button to save changes. Note: All rights that you have assigned at the permission group level are carried over to each sub-group and sub-category included in the selected Permission group. To assign limited rights, select a permission group. Select to clear all of the check boxes in the Access Rights box. Select the rights that should be granted universally to the entire permission group. Also, select the rights you want to limit. Do not select the rights that you do not want to grant to this group at all. Under the same permission group, select the sub-group or category for which you want to limit the rights. Real-time Address Validation

You can turn on real-time address validation in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, NextGen® Enterprise PM, and File Maintenance for practices and users. For real-time address validation to occur, you must setup both the practice and the user. The automatic address validation process occurs when a registered user enters or modifies an address and then saves the data. The address fields are automatically sent to the United States Postal Service (USPS) address validation API. When an address is incorrect or cannot be found, the USPS address validation API sends a message to the user and the user can update the address or keep the address entered. When a match is found, the user receives a message stating that the address is valid. The automatic address validation process can reduce the following tasks in your practice: Time and cost of returned mail Administrative tasks to resend correspondence Research and verification of the person, patient or entity's current address Before you begin this proces

Organizing Your Internal Structure

The Directory is structured with enterprises, practices, groups, and users in the following way: When you start a NextGen® Enterprise application, you are provided with one default enterprise, practice, group, and user. Adding additional enterprises and practices to the directory allows you to manage multiple practices and provide more secure access to patient data. Each user must be assigned to a group, which in turn must be assigned to a practice, and each practice is assigned to an enterprise.
