Practice-level Security for DME, Location, Payer, Provider Master Files

You can apply security rights to control access to practice-level and system-level data for the DME Regions, Locations, Practices, and Providers master files. If your enterprise is large, these security rights can enable your practices to manage their own specific master file settings without affecting system-wide configurations. The security rights are:

  • DME Regions - System Level Data controls access to all tabs.
  • DME Regions - Practice Level Data controls access to only the Practice tab.
  • Locations - System Level Data controls access to all tabs.
  • Locations - Practice Level Data controls access to only the Practice tab.
  • Payer - System Level Data controls access to all tabs.
  • Payer - Practice Level Data controls access to only the Practice tab.
  • Provider - System Level Data controls access to all tabs.
  • Provider - Practice Level Data controls access to the Practice tab and to the Provider Types tab > Practice Level Provider Types section.

The Enterprise-level right provides access to all tabs in the master file; therefore, you cannot remove practice level access if users have enterprise level access. However, if you want to provide only practice-level access, you must disable the system-level rights for the master file and make sure the practice-level rights are enabled. The following table details how the system-level and practice-level rights affect user access.
