Assign Rights to User Groups

Select a user group, and then select the Rights tab. Select the permission group or category. To view a sub-group, select the button. In the Access Rights box, select the rights to apply for the selected permissions group or subgroup. Select the Update button to save changes. Note: All rights that you have assigned at the permission group level are carried over to each sub-group and sub-category included in the selected Permission group. To assign limited rights, select a permission group. Select to clear all of the check boxes in the Access Rights box. Select the rights that should be granted universally to the entire permission group. Also, select the rights you want to limit. Do not select the rights that you do not want to grant to this group at all. Under the same permission group, select the sub-group or category for which you want to limit the rights. The Rights tab in the System Administrator application contains a long list of rights, but you can display only the rights related to a specific product that you are licensed for. Rights and Permissions

After you add a group to a practice, you must determine the access rights for the group to enable the users to access the NextGen® Enterprise application applicable to their roles. Rights and permissions can be given only at the group level. All users added to a group automatically inherit all the rights and permissions of the group. A user inherits the rights and permissions of all the groups to which they are added. The MODULES permission group provides the list of programs that perform a task. The MODULES permission group enables you to set specific rights for each module and in some cases components of the module. You can choose the following when setting up permissions in the MODULES group. View Add Update Delete Print The OPERATIONS permission group lists the actions or tasks that are carried out within a module by the user. The OPERATIONS permission group enables you to grant or deny rights related to some of the functions of the system by selecting the Yes or No check boxes. MO

Viewing Master Files for a Specific Product

You can reduce the number of master files listed to only those that are used by a specific product. The products that you are licensed for display under Master Files underneath System and Practice on the File Maintenance window. When you select a product, the master files related to that product are displayed in the File Maintenance desktop area. For example, if you select PM and you are licensed for Chart Tracking, the Chart Tracking master files are included in the master file list. If you are not licensed for Chart Tracking, those master files do not display. You can search for a master file by selecting Ctrl + F and then entering the master file name in the search box. Modify Case Management Rights

Access the System Administrator application. Select a group, and then select the Rights tab. Under Modules, select Case Management. You can set the ability for the group to view, add, and modify cases. This right affects both NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Enterprise PM users. If you use NextGen® Enterprise EHR, then under Operations > Case Management, set the following rights: Allow to mark case as private to enables users to protect patient medical information by marking cases as private. View cases marked as private to enables users to view cases that are marked as private. If you use NextGen® Enterprise EHR, then under Operations, set Case Management - Show EHR Problem list. If you select Yes, then when users are selecting a diagnosis for a case in NextGen® Enterprise EHR or NextGen® Enterprise PM, the Search Patient EHR Problem List check box appears.
