Remove and Delete Users

You can remove or deactivate a user, but you cannot permanently remove users from the system. Removing a user means removing the user from one group while he or she remains a member of at least one other group. Deactivating a user means removing the user from all groups, practices, and enterprises. You can still view deactivated users and restore them to the groups they were last assigned to. Groups

A user group is a set of users who share similar roles within your organization. Every user must be a member of at least one group. Groups keep users organized and make the maintenance of user rights and permissions easier. Rights and permissions must be assigned at the group level and they apply to all users within the group. There is no limit to the number of groups you can create and no limit to the number of groups to which a user can belong. Note: When a user is in multiple groups within one practice and each group has different rights, the user has all the rights available to those groups when he or she logs on. Users

You must set up all users before they can use the system. A user must belong to a group. Although the System Administrator application supplies you with a default enterprise, practice, group, and user, you should complete the setup of your own enterprise structure before you add users. Adding Existing Users to Other Groups

After you create a user in one group, you can add the user to additional groups within the same practice, in different practices in the same enterprise, or in practices in other enterprises. You can add users to groups by doing any of the following: Add users to a single group. See, Add Existing Users to a Single Group. Assign one or more groups from the same practice to a single user. See, Assign a User to Groups in the Same Practice. Assign one or more groups from any practice in any enterprise to a single user. See, Assign a User to Groups within Any Enterprise. If a user is assigned to more than one group, the user inherits the rights and permissions of all of the groups to which he or she is assigned. Therefore, if the user belongs to multiple groups, some of which have a particular right and some that don't, the user gains access to the right. Add Existing Groups to a Practice

You can add existing groups from one practice to another. When you add existing groups to a practice, the group security rights are copied over but none of the users originally assigned to the groups are copied over. This method of adding groups is useful when you need to add a lot of groups to a new practice. Select a practice to add the existing groups. Right-click the practice, then select Add Existing Groups. The Select Group window appears. Expand the appropriate practice, and then select the check boxes of the groups you want to add to the practice. Note: If you want to select all groups in a practice, select the check box for the practice. Select Add. A message asks if you are sure you want to add the selected groups. Select Yes to add the existing group to the selected Practice. Select Exit to save the group to the practice. Add users to the groups by either creating new users or adding existing ones.
