Add a New Group

Select a practice to add a new group. From the main menu, do one of the following: Select Edit > New Group Right-click the selected practice, then select New Group. The General tab for a new group appears on the right side of the window. In the Name field, enter the name of the new user group. If your facility requires a description, then enter a brief one for the group in the Description field. If you want to assign default NextGen® Enterprise PM User Preferences settings for all users in the group, you can select a general, location, and scheduling preferences master files. Note: If you make a selection in the PM User Prefs - Locations field and save the change, the settings of the preferences display on the Locations tab of User Maintenance for each user in the group. If you need different preferences for a user in the group, you can override the selections in these fields by making different preference selections on the user level Preferences tab. After you add a group to a practice, you must determine the access rights for the group to enable the users to access the NextGen® Enterprise application applicable to their roles. Rights and permissions can be given only at the group level. All users added to a group automatically inherit all the rights and permissions of the group. A user inherits the rights and permissions of all the groups to which they are added. The MODULES permission group provides the list of programs that perform a task. The MODULES permission group enables you to set specific rights for each module and in some cases components of the module. You can choose the following when setting up permissions in the MODULES group. View Add Update Delete Print The OPERATIONS permission group lists the actions or tasks that are carried out within a module by the user. The OPERATIONS permission group enables you to grant or deny rights related to some of the functions of the system by selecting the Yes or No check boxes. MO

Subgroups of the MODULES Permissions Group contains all permissions groups and their related sub-groups for the MODULES security permissions group. Real-Time Address Validation

You can turn on real-time address validation in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, NextGen® Enterprise PM, and File Maintenance for practices and users. For real-time address validation to occur, you must set up both practice and user settings. The automatic address validation process occurs when a registered user enters or modifies an address and then saves the data. The address fields are automatically sent to the United States Postal Service (USPS) address validation API. When an address is incorrect or cannot be found, this API sends a message to the user, who can update the address or keep the address entered. When a match is found, the user receives a confirmation message.
