Subgroups of the Modules Permissions Group

Subgroups of the MODULES Permissions Group contains all permissions groups and their related sub-groups for the MODULES security permissions group. Assign Rights to User Groups

Select a user group, and then select the Rights tab. Select the permission group or category. To view a sub-group, select the button. In the Access Rights box, select the rights to apply for the selected permissions group or subgroup. Select the Update button to save changes. Note: All rights that you have assigned at the permission group level are carried over to each sub-group and sub-category included in the selected Permission group. To assign limited rights, select a permission group. Select to clear all of the check boxes in the Access Rights box. Select the rights that should be granted universally to the entire permission group. Also, select the rights you want to limit. Do not select the rights that you do not want to grant to this group at all. Under the same permission group, select the sub-group or category for which you want to limit the rights. Copy Document Type Permissions to a Group

Assign all document types to the users. You can copy the Document Type permissions assigned to a group and apply those permissions to another group across practices. To open the Security Groups window, do one of the following: Open NextGen® Document Management, and then from the menu, select Admin > Security. Open File Maintenance, then in the Master Files section, select System > Document Management, and then select Document Types. Select the open menu button, and then select New. In the Document Type Information window, select Security. Right-click the group you want to copy the document type permissions from, and then select Copy Permissions. Right-click the group you want to apply the document type permissions to, and then select Apply Permissions from <Practice name\Group name>. The <Practice name\Group name> represents the source practice name and group name. Note: The applied permissions overwrite the existing document type permissions that are configured for that group. Add Existing Groups to a Practice

You can add existing groups from one practice to another. When you add existing groups to a practice, the group security rights are copied over but none of the users originally assigned to the groups are copied over. This method of adding groups is useful when you need to add a lot of groups to a new practice. Select a practice to add the existing groups. Right-click the practice, then select Add Existing Groups. The Select Group window appears. Expand the appropriate practice, and then select the check boxes of the groups you want to add to the practice. Note: If you want to select all groups in a practice, select the check box for the practice. Select Add. A message asks if you are sure you want to add the selected groups. Select Yes to add the existing group to the selected Practice. Select Exit to save the group to the practice. Add users to the groups by either creating new users or adding existing ones. Add Existing Users to a Single Group

You can add existing users to another group in any practice. Use the following steps when there is only one group that you want to add users to. For example, you might want to add existing users to a newly created group. Note: If a user is assigned to more than one group, the user inherits the rights and permissions of all of the groups to which he or she is assigned. Select the group that you want to add an existing user to. Right-click the group, then select Add Existing User. The Select User window appears. An icon appears next to the users that are already members of the group. Select the user you want to add. Note: To search for a user, do the following in the order listed: First, select Find. On the Find window, select whether you want to search by last name, first name, or user ID. Enter the search criteria in the text box. The search results display in the User and Practice list. In the list, select the user you want to add, then select OK to return to the Select User window. S

Transfer Members from One Patient Group to Another

The Members tab on the Patient Group window enables you to transfer patients from the group to another group. You can also manage existing future group appointments for the transferred members. Access Patient Groups. The Patient Group Search window opens. Search for a Patient Group. From the Matching Records section of the Patient Group Search window, select a group and then do one of the following: Select Open. Select Open Menu and select Open. Right-click and select Open. The Patient Group window opens. Select the Members tab.
