You can use the Intake template to document the patient information. You can document the following details of the patient in the various panels of the Intake template: General details of the patient Reason for the patient's to visit Patient's history Vital signs Patient's allergies Medications details Review of systems Orders You can select the Record contains substance use disorder information check box to include the disclosure for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) 42 CFR Part 2 provisions in the generated documents and reports. Intake Staff Workflow

The intake staff can use the Intake template to document a patient's chief complaint, vital signs, medications, allergies, standing orders, and various other findings. The intake staff workflow involves documenting the patient encounter on the Intake and Histories templates. The information documented by the intake staff is used by the provider for reference and to proceed with the encounter. Open the Home Page Template You can obtain the patient summary on the Home Page template. Viewing Template Links on the Home Page Template On the Home Page template, you can view and open links to other templates based on the selected specialty. Orders

You can add and manage the orders for a patient. You can view, process, manage, add, and place a follow-up order from the Orders panel. It also includes links to process lab and radiology orders, open the Order Management template, open the Immunizations template, access standing orders on the Office Services template, create tasks on the To Do template, and document the education provided to a patient. Orders Panel The View All Orders link is selected by default. The other options to view include Labs, Diagnostics, Office Services, Immunizations Today, Surgical Procedures, Referrals, and Patient Education. You can select a row in the grid and select Edit to open the Orders Edit template, and update the order details. The Education material provided section enables you to provide patient education documents and indicate if they are provided in the patient's preferred language and FDA approved. Recording Patient Details in the Intake Workflow

The intake staff can use the Intake template to document a patient's chief complaint, vital signs, medications, allergies, standing orders, and various other findings. Intake - Gastro Panel Description General To document the patient's general information. Reason for Visit To document the reasons for the patient's visit. History Summary To document the patient's past medical history, social, medical or surgical, diagnostic study, and family histories. Note: The History Summary section displays the patient history documented on the Histories template . Vital Signs To document and update the patient's vital signs. Medications To view the patient's current medications and medication history. You can also enter additional prescriptions and reconcile the listed medications with the actual active medications. Patient's Reason for Visit

You can document a patient's reasons for visit. In the Reason for Visit panel, you can document the History of Present Illness (HPI), problems, and diagnosis history as the reason for a patient visit. When you select a reason for visit that is already selected in the current encounter, an alert appears indicating that the reason for visit is already selected. You can either enter the duplicate reason for visit, or remove the duplicate. For a reason for visit that has separate listings for different specialties, such as abrasion, if you select two HPIs from different specialties for the same reason, an alert appears. You can select up to fourteen HPIs simultaneously. Additionally, you can select the Do not launch HPI check box and can select any HPI to open the corresponding HPI template. Note: You can configure sub menu items for reason for visit on the Framework Content system template for the specialty. Viewing Template Links on the Home Page Template

On the Home Page template, you can view and open links to other templates based on the selected specialty. The recommended workflow for a patient encounter is to begin on the Home Page template. If you set up the Home Page template as the default, then the same template automatically opens as the first template for an encounter. You can also open the generic Home Page template from the Templates module. You can review and document the summary of a patient's problems, history, allergies, medications, vital signs, orders, and so on, on the Home Page template.
