You can document and update a patient's vital signs on the Vital Signs template. You can edit or remove a vital signs record from the Vital Signs grid.
The vital signs template names vary based on a patient's age. For an adult patient, the template name is Adult Vital Signs. If a patient is younger than two years, the template name is Pediatric Under 2 Years Vital Signs. If a patient is two years or older, the template name is Pediatric Over 2 Years Vital Signs. You can change a pediatric patient's age to an adult age on the Practice Configuration template.
A patient's height and weight fields are used to calculate their Blood Mass Index (BMI). BMI is not available for patients who are younger than two years.
You can configure the normal vital signs range. If a patient's vital signs are outside the normal range, a message appears. You can view only the vital signs documented for the current encounter in the Vital Signs grid on the Intake template. From the Home page, you can view the vital signs documented for the previous encounters.
You can manage clinical quality measures exclusions for Quality Reporting. You can document an exclusion reason not related to Quality Reporting when you document vital signs.
