You can measure the capacity of a patient's lungs to expel air using the Vital Signs template.
- Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
- Open a patient's record, and then open an encounter.
- On Top Toolbar, select Templates
.
The Select Template window opens.
- Open the Intake template.
- Expand the Vital Signs panel and select Add.
The age-specific vital signs template opens.
- In Peak flow, enter the peak expiratory flow rate of the patient within the 10 – 999 range.
Note: A message appears if the value entered is not within the range.
- Select Pre-treatment or Post-treatment.
- Select the method of testing the peak expiratory flow rate.
- Save and close the template.
