Providers System Tab

On the System tab, you can add a provider or modify provider details using the following field descriptions. Field Description Provider Payers This field lists payers and payer numbers added to the provider. After you add a provider, you should add values in the Provider Payers list. Taxonomy Code This field displays a default taxonomy code to classify providers according to type or specialty. Specialty Code1/ Specialty Code2 This field displays the provider's specialty codes. You can modify specialties in the Specialties master file. Provider Subgrouping 1/ Provider Subgrouping 2 (User-defined fields) This field displays provider subgrouping category types that you can use as reporting filters. To modify the information, you can refer to the Provider Subgrouping 1 and Provider Subgrouping 2 fields on the General tab of the Enterprise Preferences window. Filter Batch Statements by Provider

To filter batch statements by provider, do the following: Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select File > Print Forms > Statements. The Statement Options window opens. Select the Provider tab. The Include ALL records of this type check box is selected by default. To select the providers to be included in the batch, select the Open Record button. The Rendering Providers window opens. In the Search Method section in the middle of the window, select one of the following buttons: All Providers (default): Select to list all providers from the Providers master file. Rendering: Select to list only rendering providers for the selected practice(s). Practice Related: Select to list all providers with practice access for the selected practice(s). In the Options section, you can see the following fields are at the bottom of the window. Viewing Master Files for a Specific Product

You can reduce the number of master files listed to only those that are used by a specific product. The products that you are licensed for display under Master Files underneath System and Practice on the File Maintenance window. When you select a product, the master files related to that product are displayed in the File Maintenance desktop area. For example, if you select PM and you are licensed for Chart Tracking, the Chart Tracking master files are included in the master file list. If you are not licensed for Chart Tracking, those master files do not display. You can search for a master file by selecting Ctrl + F and then entering the master file name in the search box. Providing Practice Access for Provider Master File

The Practice access for provider master file check box, when selected, allows providers to be defined at the practice level, and you can restrict which practices have access to them. Once the practices have been set up with or without access to the selected provider, there are specific areas in the application where that practice, depending on its access, will or will not see the provider. The areas are: The Referring Physician field in Add/Modify Appointment window. The Physician Referring field in Eligibility Referral Lookup window. The Additional provider field in Charge Entry window. Note: The Additional provider field is dependent on the Addtl provider selection in the Charge Entry Preferences. If the check box is selected and All providers is also selected, then the access to the providers listed in the Additional Provider field is determined by the practice access settings. Providers Master File Reports

The following File Maintenance reports are available for the Providers master file: All Providers Providers with UPIN Providers with Provider Numbers Providers with Credentialing Note: The Providers master file reports will be available in enhanced mode. The Enhanced Reporting feature is added to improve system performance for specific reports. The reports are typically database intensive when generated due to the large amount of data reported. This feature is always enabled for Providers master file, you can utilize a new user interface and paging mechanism that allows you to generate, view, print, and export the reports in a timely manner. Any memorized reports that exist in the legacy form continue to display in legacy format. For better accessibility of reports, it is recommended to memorize the enhanced Providers master file reports. Managing Provider Information

The Provider tab appears only when one or more custom User Defined Patient Provider fields have been created in Practice Preferences. Up to 12 patient provider fields can be set up and then used to collect additional provider information for a person or patient. Information on the Provider tab is stored at the practice level; therefore, each practice can enter and maintain different information for a person or patient.
