Providers Categories Tab

Field	Description
Service/ Diagnosis/ Modifier	Select the category type you want to assign.
Available Categories	Lists the items in the category you selected. These are items that have been set up in the following master files: Service Categories, Diagnosis Categories, and Modifier Categories.
Assigned Categories	Lists the items in the category you selected.
Category Details	Displays the key and description for the item in the selected category. To view the details of a category; right-click an item in the Available Categories list, then select Details.

Displaying Only Selected Providers

You can control which physicians display in a provider list box. By assigning a Provider Type to each provider on the Provider Types tab of the Modify Provider Information dialog box, you can categorize the physicians so that only the appropriate ones display in the provider list box during tasks such as encounter and appointment creation. The system-defined Provider Types that you can assign to a physician are: Admitting Provider First Consulting Provider Second Consulting Provider Primary Care Provider Referring Provider You can also assign user-defined provider types to providers on the Modify Provider Information window. Providers Categories Tab

The Categories tab allows you to select the service, diagnosis, and modifier categories to assign with the provider. Field Description Service/ Diagnosis/ Modifier Select the category type you want to assign. Available Categories Lists the items in the category you selected. Provider Types Tab

All five system-defined provider types and all user-defined provider types, are assigned by default to each provider. When you access the Provider Types tab on the Add/Modify Provider Information window, a check mark displays next to the assigned types. This means that the application continues to list all providers on all window until you change the provider type settings. For example, if you clear the check mark for the First Consulting provider type on the Add/Modify Provider Information window of a physician, that physician is no longer listed as an available First Consulting provider when you create a new encounter for a patient. Modifier Categories

The Modifier Categories master file provides a complete list of all modifier categories within the database. The Modifier Categories master file is user-defined. To add or modify a modifier category, do the following: From the Master Files - System list, select Modifier Category. The Modifier Categories List window opens. Do one of the following: To add a new item, select open menu , and then select New. To modify an existing item, select the item in the list, select open menu , and then select Open. You can also double-click to open the item. The Add/Modify Modifier Category Information window opens. Enter a name for the modifier category in the Category field. In the Short Description field, enter a description of up to four characters for the modifier category. To change the modifiers in the category, select Open Folder . The Modifiers window opens. The Available field lists the available modifiers that have not been included in the group. To locate a modifier in the list, enter one
