Field	Description
Service/ Diagnosis/ Modifier	Select the category type you want to assign.
Available Categories	Lists the items in the category you selected. These are items that have been set up in the following master files: Service Categories, Diagnosis Categories, and Modifier Categories.
Assigned Categories	Lists the items in the category you selected.
Category Details	Displays the key and description for the item in the selected category. To view the details of a category; right-click an item in the Available Categories list, then select Details.

Providers System Tab

On the System tab, you can add a provider or modify provider details using the following field descriptions. Field Description Provider Payers This field lists payers and payer numbers added to the provider. After you add a provider, you should add values in the Provider Payers list. Taxonomy Code This field displays a default taxonomy code to classify providers according to type or specialty. Specialty Code1/ Specialty Code2 This field displays the provider's specialty codes. You can modify specialties in the Specialties master file. Provider Subgrouping 1/ Provider Subgrouping 2 (User-defined fields) This field displays provider subgrouping category types that you can use as reporting filters. To modify the information, you can refer to the Provider Subgrouping 1 and Provider Subgrouping 2 fields on the General tab of the Enterprise Preferences window. Access Providers Master File

From File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Providers. The Providers List window opens. Do one of the following: To add a provider, select Open Menu , and then select New. The Add Provider window opens. To access an existing provider, select a provider's name, select Open Menu , and then selectOpen. The Modify Provider Information window opens. Enter or modify provider information. Do one of the following: To save changes and then close the window, select OK. To close the window without saving changes, select Cancel. Provider Types Tab

All five system-defined provider types and all user-defined provider types, are assigned by default to each provider. When you access the Provider Types tab on the Add/Modify Provider Information window, a check mark displays next to the assigned types. This means that the application continues to list all providers on all window until you change the provider type settings. For example, if you clear the check mark for the First Consulting provider type on the Add/Modify Provider Information window of a physician, that physician is no longer listed as an available First Consulting provider when you create a new encounter for a patient. Displaying Only Selected Providers

You can control which physicians display in a provider list box. By assigning a Provider Type to each provider on the Provider Types tab of the Modify Provider Information dialog box, you can categorize the physicians so that only the appropriate ones display in the provider list box during tasks such as encounter and appointment creation. The system-defined Provider Types that you can assign to a physician are: Admitting Provider First Consulting Provider Second Consulting Provider Primary Care Provider Referring Provider You can also assign user-defined provider types to providers on the Modify Provider Information window. Modifier Categories

The Modifier Categories master file provides a complete list of all modifier categories within the database. The Modifier Categories master file is user-defined. To add or modify a modifier category, do the following: From the Master Files - System list, select Modifier Category. The Modifier Categories List window opens. Do one of the following: To add a new item, select open menu , and then select New. To modify an existing item, select the item in the list, select open menu , and then select Open. You can also double-click to open the item. The Add/Modify Modifier Category Information window opens. Enter a name for the modifier category in the Category field. In the Short Description field, enter a description of up to four characters for the modifier category. To change the modifiers in the category, select Open Folder . The Modifiers window opens. Assign a Test Favorites Group to a Provider Assign a Test Favorites Group to a Provider A provider can select, modify and use a list of test favorites that they prefer. They do not subscribe to a favorites list like the practices do, rather, they select a test favorites group to use as a start, and then customize it for themselves. Create the favorites group in File Maintenance. Select File Maintenance > System > Providers. Double-click the desired provider in the list. Select the Orders module tab or enter [ALT]-[M] on the Modify Provider Information window to open the Orders module tab. Select . The Map Favorite Tests to Provider window opens. Select to select a Test Favorites group from the list available to assign this favorites group to this provider. Select the right-arrow to move the favorites group to the Included pane. Select OK.
