Provider Types Tab
All five system-defined provider types and all user-defined provider types, are assigned by default to each provider. When you access the Provider Types tab on the Add/Modify Provider Information window, a check mark displays next to the assigned types. This means that the application continues to list all providers on all window until you change the provider type settings. For example, if you clear the check mark for the First Consulting provider type on the Add/Modify Provider Information window of a physician, that physician is no longer listed as an available First Consulting provider when you create a new encounter for a patient.

Provider Types | Select to place a check mark next to the Provider Type entries to assign the appropriate types to the provider. Provider Types indicate the role the provider plays in relation to the patient. |
Practice Level Provider Types | Select to place a check mark next to the Practice Level Provider Type entries to assign additional Provider Types to the provider. You can change the names of these types in the Provider Practice Preferences. |
