The Practice access for provider master file check box, when selected, allows providers to be defined at the practice level, and you can restrict which practices have access to them.
Once the practices have been set up with or without access to the selected provider, there are specific areas in the application where that practice, depending on its access, will or will not see the provider. The areas are:
- The Referring Physician field in Add/Modify Appointment window.
- The Physician Referring field in Eligibility Referral Lookup window.
- The Additional provider field in Charge Entry window.
Note: The Additional provider field is dependent on the Addtl provider selection in the Charge Entry Preferences. If the check box is selected and All providers is also selected, then the access to the providers listed in the Additional Provider field is determined by the practice access settings.
- The Provider field in the Add Patient Provider window.
- The Default Referring Physician field in the Chart Details window.
- The Referring field in the Encounter Maintenance window.
- The Referred To field in the New Referral Entry window.
The following areas of the application continue to show all the payers in the enterprise regardless of the practices access settings:
