Providing Practice Access for Provider Master File

The Practice access for provider master file check box, when selected, allows providers to be defined at the practice level, and you can restrict which practices have access to them. Once the practices have been set up with or without access to the selected provider, there are specific areas in the application where that practice, depending on its access, will or will not see the provider. The areas are: The Referring Physician field in Add/Modify Appointment window. The Physician Referring field in Eligibility Referral Lookup window. The Additional provider field in Charge Entry window. Note: The Additional provider field is dependent on the Addtl provider selection in the Charge Entry Preferences. If the check box is selected and All providers is also selected, then the access to the providers listed in the Additional Provider field is determined by the practice access settings. Viewing Rendering Providers

In File Maintenance, you can view which providers are defined as rendering providers for the practice you are logged into. To see which providers are rendering: Under Master Files, select System, then select Providers to open the Providers master file. A check mark displays in the Rendering column for each provider that is set as rendering. Note: You can set a provider as rendering on the Practice tab of the Add/Modify Provider Information window. Access Providers Master File

From File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Providers. The Providers List window opens. Do one of the following: To add a provider, select Open Menu , and then select New. The Add Provider window opens. To access an existing provider, select a provider's name, select Open Menu , and then selectOpen. The Modify Provider Information window opens. Enter or modify provider information. Do one of the following: To save changes and then close the window, select OK. To close the window without saving changes, select Cancel. Providers Credentialing Tab

The Credentialing tab in the Providers master files enables you to track the various credentials obtained by each provider, such as degrees, licenses and certifications. You can enter credentials for each provider and use them for informational purposes only. If the Enable Provider Credential Billing option is enabled in Enterprise Preferences > General, you can also use them in the configuration of the Non-Coordinated SIM and Claim Modifiers libraries for billing purposes in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Auditing Payers Master File

Auditing has been enabled for the Payers master file in File Maintenance. Changes that you do to the Payers master file are recorded in the Advanced Audit reporting tool. The tool records details such as, what was changed, who changed it, and when was it changed.
