Changing the Payer Address and Associated Patient Records

The application allows you to change the Payer Address in the Master file and to optionally update all associated patient records with the new address. If you choose to update the associated records, the new address displays on the Insurance Maintenance window when it is accessed from the patient chart. However, if you choose not to update the associated patient records, the Insurance Maintenance window displays the old address. Any modifications to that address must be made on an individual record basis. Auditing Payers Master File

Auditing has been enabled for the Payers master file in File Maintenance. Changes that you do to the Payers master file are recorded in the Advanced Audit reporting tool. The tool records details such as, what was changed, who changed it, and when was it changed. Activate and Assign a Payer to a Practice

When you select Practice access for payer master file, the payers can be defined at the practice level, and you can restrict which practices have access to them. Import a Practice Payer into a Practice

The Import Practice Payer feature enables you to copy practice-specific data from one practice into another practice. You must be logged into the practice that you want to import into. The copied data includes practice access information and information from the Practice tab. If a practice already has payer information, importing overwrites any payer data that may already be in the practice. One situation in which you might want to import a practice payer is when you have created a new practice and you want to add payer information that already exists. Instead of manually re-entering all the existing payer practice information, you can simply import it from a payer and only modify the fields as needed. In File Maintenance under Master Files, select System. The list of System Master Files displays. Double-click Payers. The Payer List window opens.
