Providers EHR Tab

Field	Description
Provider Locations	Select one or more locations to associate with the provider. This field only appears if one or more locations are set up as internal locations. The Internal Location check box is selected on the Location Defaults tab of the Locations Information window . NextGen® Enterprise EHR displays only providers assigned to the location selected in the toolbar.
Practice Name	Enter the name of the practice name that the physician is mapped to in NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 3	Select the geographical areas used in NextGen® Enterprise EHR that are associated with the practice. The zones in the list are set up in the Master Lists in File Maintenance.
Prescription Pad Address	If you use SureScripts Retail Pharmacies, select to copy the provider name and address ( Business, Home, Other 1, or Other 2) from the Demographics tab or the Practice address from the Practice master file. You can modify the Last Name, First Name, and Middle Name fields to be as long as 35 characters each, which is the limit supported by ePrescribing transactions.

Providers Demographics Tab

The Demographics tab contains the provider name, address, and other profile information. Field Description Last/ First/ Middle Names Enter the name of the provider. It is very important that you only enter the provider's middle initial in the Middle Name field. If you enter an entire name in the Middle Name field (even though the field is labeled Middle Name instead Middle Initial), the application will take the last letter of the name you entered and enter it as the middle initial in box 17 of the HFCA 1500 form. Business/ Home/ Other1/ Other2 Select the type of address information you want to enter for the provider. Address/ City/ State/ Zip/ Country/ County The first space is for street number and name. The second space is for other address details such as suite number. If the ZIP code table is set up, you can enter the ZIP code, and the city, state, county, and country automatically display. The Provider tab appears only when one or more custom User Defined Patient Provider fields have been created in Practice Preferences. Up to 12 patient provider fields can be set up and then used to collect additional provider information for a person or patient. Information on the Provider tab is stored at the practice level; therefore, each practice can enter and maintain different information for a person or patient. Verify Provider Enrollment

Beginning with NextGen® Enterprise EHR, 5.9.2020.1 or higher, you must ensure that enrolled providers are migrated to the latest Surescripts® messaging standard, Surescripts 6.1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the View menu, select eRx Status. The eRx Status window opens. eRx Status From the User list, select <All Users>. From the Provider list, select <All Providers>. From the Message Type list, select UpdatePrescriberLocation. If needed, select a date range. Select Search. Set Up Storage Locations

You can set up your storage locations for patient chart items. From File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Storage Locations. The Storage Locations List window opens. To edit an existing storage location, double-click a Storage Name. To create a storage location, select open menu and select New. The Storage Location window opens. Enter the following information: In Storage Name, enter a name for the storage location. In the Storage Type section, select the File System option. In the File Storage section, enter the path of the storage location or select open folder to select a folder you want to use as the location. In the Application section, select the EHR option. In the Note field, enter comments on the storage location, if any. Either select Next to enter another storage location or select OK to exit the Storage Location window. Select a Provider Associated with a Location

If you enable the Use link between Location and Provider Medical Records preference, follow the workflow below to select a provider. Note: You must select a location and provider to use NextGen® Enterprise EHR. When these fields are filled in, you cannot leave them blank. Log on to NextGen® Enterprise EHR. If you have set up Location and Provider preferences, the location and provider appear in the Top toolbar. No action is needed. If you have not set up a location and provider, the Select Location window opens. Select the location. If the selected location has associated providers, the Select Provider (Filtered by Location) window opens, listing only those providers. Select the provider. The selected provider appears in the Provider field on the Top toolbar. All providers associated with the location are available for selection in the Provider field list.
