Providers EHR Tab

Field	Description
Provider Locations	Select one or more locations to associate with the provider. This field only appears if one or more locations are set up as internal locations. The Internal Location checkbox is selected on the Location Defaults tab of the Locations Information window. NextGen® Enterprise EHR displays only providers assigned to the location selected in the toolbar.
Practice Name	Enter the name of the practice name that the physician is mapped to in NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 3	Select the geographical areas used in NextGen® Enterprise EHR that are associated with the practice. The zones in the list are set up in the Master Lists in File Maintenance.
Prescription Pad Address	If you use SureScripts Retail Pharmacies, click to copy the provider name and address ( Business, Home, Other 1, or Other 2) from the Demographics tab or the Practice address from the Practice master file. You can modify the Last Name, First Name, and Middle Name fields to be as long as 35 characters each, which is the limit supported by ePrescribing transactions.

Providers System Tab

On the System tab, you can add a provider or modify provider details using the following field descriptions. Field Description Provider Payers This field lists payers and payer numbers added to the provider. After you add a provider, you should add values in the Provider Payers list. For more information on payers and payer numbers, refer to Payer Name and Number. Taxonomy Code This field displays a default taxonomy code to classify providers according to type or specialty. For more information on taxonomy codes, refer to creating taxonomy codes and attaching taxonomy codes. Specialty Code1/ Specialty Code2 This field displays the provider's specialty codes. You can modify specialties in the Specialties master file. Provider Subgrouping 1/ Provider Subgrouping 2 (User-defined fields) This field displays provider subgrouping category types that you can use as reporting filters. Managing Provider Information

The Provider tab appears only when one or more custom User Defined Patient Provider fields have been created in Practice Preferences. Up to 12 patient provider fields can be set up and then used to collect additional provider information for a person or patient. Information on the Provider tab is stored at the practice level; therefore, each practice can enter and maintain different information for a person or patient. Verify Provider Enrollment

Beginning with NextGen® Enterprise EHR, 5.9.2020.1 or higher, you must ensure that enrolled providers are migrated to the latest Surescripts® messaging standard, Surescripts 6.1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the View menu, select eRx Status. The eRx Status window opens. eRx Status From the User list, select <All Users>. From the Provider list, select <All Providers>. From the Message Type list, select UpdatePrescriberLocation. If needed, select a date range. Select Search. The search results appear. eRx Status CAUTION: If any enrolled provider has an unsuccessful UpdatePrescriberLocation message, resolve the issues and update provider enrollment in File Maintenance.
