Providing Practice Access for Provider Master File

The Practice access for provider master file check box, when selected, allows providers to be defined at the practice level, and you can restrict which practices have access to them. Once the practices have been set up with or without access to the selected provider, there are specific areas in the application where that practice, depending on its access, will or will not see the provider. The areas are: The Referring Physician field in Add/Modify Appointment window. The Physician Referring field in Eligibility Referral Lookup window. The Additional provider field in Charge Entry window. Note: The Additional provider field is dependent on the Addtl provider selection in the Charge Entry Preferences. If the check box is selected and All providers is also selected, then the access to the providers listed in the Additional Provider field is determined by the practice access settings. Access Providers Master File

From File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Providers. The Providers List window opens. Do one of the following: To add a provider, select Open Menu , and then select New. The Add Provider window opens. To access an existing provider, select a provider's name, select Open Menu , and then selectOpen. The Modify Provider Information window opens. Enter or modify provider information. Do one of the following: To save changes and then close the window, select OK. To close the window without saving changes, select Cancel. Auditing Providers Master File

Auditing has been enabled for the Providers master file in File Maintenance. The Advanced Audit reporting tool records the changes that you do to the Providers master file. Providers Master File

In the Providers master file, you can set up providers who offer a service or refer a patient for a service. You can set the access right for the Provider master file to read-only for user groups. The setting prevents the user group from modifying the master file. For more information on setting up rights and permissions, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest System Administrator Guide for NextGen® Enterprise and see Rights and Permissions section. On the Providers List window, you can see the Rendering, Providers and National Provider ID columns. Rendering providers are indicated by a checkmark in the Rendering column. You can set providers as rendering on the Add/Modify Provider Information window of the Practice tab. The National Provider ID column displays the NPI number linked to the provider. Configure an eRx Supervising Physician

In File Maintenance, from Master Files > System, select Providers. The Providers List window opens. Double-click a provider. The Modify Provider Information window opens. Select the ePrescribing tab. Select Supervising Physician Required. Modify Provider Information Do one of the following: Select a provider from the Supervising Physician list. For no default provider, clear the Supervising Physician list. If you want the rendering provider to be the supervising physician, select Rendering Provider. Select OK.
