Surgery Scheduling Worklog

Surgery schedulers and coordinators can track details of a surgery order from the Surgery Scheduling Worklog template. You can use the Surgery Scheduling Worklog template for tracking surgery order details such as surgery clearance, orders, and pre-operative tests. All surgery orders placed on the Surgery Sched template appear in the worklog grid. You must enter your search criteria in the Filters section to view surgery orders in the worklog grid. Surgery Scheduling Worklog template In the Filters section, you can enter the desired values in the fields to filter surgery orders in the worklog grid. The Launch Chart and Edit buttons are made available only after you select a record from the worklog grid. You can open the patient's chart by selecting a record and clicking Launch Chart. Tracking Surgery Orders

You can track surgery orders, add coordinator notes, and generate various documents and patient letters on the Coordinator template. The Coordinator template is intended for surgery schedulers and coordinators, and it displays the surgery details documented on the Surgery Sched template. You can use the Coordinator template for tracking the schedule and clearance of surgeries. You can also generate surgery order documents and patient letters. Surgery Coding Template

The final step for the surgery scheduling workflow is the Surgery Coding template. Here, billers can code and bill for the procedures performed. We recommended that you open a new encounter, drag the Surgery Sched template to the new encounter, then code and bill for the procedures on the Surgery Coding template. The Schedule/Boarding Information and Diagnosis/Procedure Information panels display all diagnoses and procedures entered from the Surgery Sched template. You can also add additional diagnoses or update the procedure if the performed procedure is different than the boarded procedure. Add Surgery Coding Biller You can add the person who does the billing for the procedures performed by the provider. Scheduling and Boarding Information You can verify the information added while scheduling the surgery and add the necessary tasks for the billing staff or providers. Patient History for Scheduling Surgeries

You can review, add, and update histories of a patient for scheduling a surgery. The Histories panel on the Surgery Sched template enables you to review the diagnoses, histories, medications, allergies, and outside diagnostic studies of the patient prior to the surgery. Documenting Medical Clearance Details

You can add and track the medical clearance details of a patient for scheduling a surgery. You can document the following medical clearance details of patient in the Medical Clearance panel on the Surgery Sched template. Pre-op clearance Primary care provider Specialty clearance Medications Anticoagulants Bridging RA Medication Instructions Antibiotics Chronic pain management Medical Clearance panel on the Surgery Scheduling template If a primary care provider is added for a patient, the provider name is automatically filled in the PCP field. You must enter a pre-op clearance before signing off or approve the Surgery Sched template. Note: You can configure the picklists for the fields in the Medical Clearance panel. Surgical Risk Index of a Patient

The Surgical Risk Index panel on the Surgery Sched template displays the details that are recorded in the patient's chart. You can select the options, as needed. The surgical risk index of a patient is calculated based on the value appear in the Count field or the options selected in this panel. You can also select the type of inpatient medical management.
