Tracking Surgery Orders

Panel	Description
Surgery Information	You can view the surgery details documented on the Surgery Sched template. You can also include additional details for surgery orders.
Medical Clearance	You can generate surgery order documents, surgery plan documents, clearance letters, and lab orders.
Diagnosis	You can view the surgery location, diagnoses, and procedures from surgery orders placed on the Surgery Sched template.
Surgery Tracking	You can view changes to the surgery order, name of the person who changed the surgery order, and the date and time of the change in the Order Status/Messages grid. You can also enter a message in the message field, and click Add Message for manually adding messages to the grid.

Surgery Scheduling Worklog

Surgery schedulers and coordinators can track details of a surgery order from the Surgery Scheduling Worklog template. You can use the Surgery Scheduling Worklog template for tracking surgery order details such as surgery clearance, orders, and pre-operative tests. All surgery orders placed on the Surgery Sched template appear in the worklog grid. You must enter your search criteria in the Filters section to view surgery orders in the worklog grid. Surgery Scheduling Worklog template In the Filters section, you can enter the desired values in the fields to filter surgery orders in the worklog grid. The Launch Chart and Edit buttons are made available only after you select a record from the worklog grid. You can open the patient's chart by selecting a record and clicking Launch Chart. Surgery Scheduling Template

Use the Surgery Sched template to enter surgery-related information. The information can be entered by the clinical staff, but must be reviewed and signed off by a provider or surgeon. The Surgery Sched template has the following panels: Surgery Information Surgical Risk Index Pre-Surgical Checklist Medical Clearance Histories Insurance Lab/Testing Place Order Surgery Scheduling template Record the Surgery Date and Location Surgery Details of Patients You can document the surgery diagnosis, procedure codes, and surgery details prior to scheduling the surgery for a patient. Pre-Authorization for Surgeries

You can use the Pre Auth template to add and track the authorization details for scheduling the surgery of a patient. On the Pre Auth template, you can view the surgery order details and encounter-level insurance, enter pre-authorization details, and enter additional information of the patient for other surgery schedulers and coordinators. Pre-authorization template The following table describes the panels on the Pre Auth template. Panel Description Surgery Information You can view the details of the surgery order that is placed on the Surgery Sched template. The fields in this panel are read-only. Surgery Details for Coordinators

On the Coordinator template, you can view the surgery details added from the Surgery Sched template, and you can also document additional details. The Surgery Information panel on the Coordinator template displays the surgery details added from the Surgery Sched template, and it enables coordinators to view the items ordered, date of surgery, location, and surgeon details. You can also document additional information for the surgery orders. Generating Documents for Canceled and Rescheduled Surgery Orders

You can generate documents for canceled and rescheduled surgery orders, and manage carbon copies configuration. On the Coordinator template, you can use the sections below the panels to generate documents for canceled and rescheduled surgery orders, and manage carbon copies configuration. If the surgery was canceled or rescheduled on the Surgery Sched template, the Cancelled or Rescheduled section displays the name of the staff who performed the action, and date and time of the action. Canceled and rescheduled documents on the Coordinator template You can generate documents for canceled, rescheduled, and revised surgery orders using the appropriate document Document icon icons. Clicking the Cancel, Reschedule, and R/S Postpone buttons open templates for respective optional workflows, where you can record the actions performed and who performed them. Generate Surgery Orders and Clearance Letters

You can generate surgery orders, lab orders, and clearance letters. On the Coordinator template, in the Medical Clearance panel, you can generate surgery orders, surgery plan documents, clearance letters, and lab orders. You can configure the document generation for the following documents based on the surgery location and admit type in the Surgery Scheduling - Document Generation panel on the Document Config system template.
