Generating Documents for Canceled and Rescheduled Surgery Orders

You can generate documents for canceled and rescheduled surgery orders, and manage carbon copies configuration. On the Coordinator template, you can use the sections below the panels to generate documents for canceled and rescheduled surgery orders, and manage carbon copies configuration. If the surgery was canceled or rescheduled on the Surgery Sched template, the Cancelled or Rescheduled section displays the name of the staff who performed the action, and date and time of the action. Canceled and rescheduled documents on the Coordinator template You can generate documents for canceled, rescheduled, and revised surgery orders using the appropriate document Document icon icons. Clicking the Cancel, Reschedule, and R/S Postpone buttons open templates for respective optional workflows, where you can record the actions performed and who performed them. You can also enter the details of the carbon copies in the Carbon Copies section. You can configure the documents to be generated based on

Tracking Surgery Orders

You can track surgery orders, add coordinator notes, and generate various documents and patient letters on the Coordinator template. The Coordinator template is intended for surgery schedulers and coordinators, and it displays the surgery details documented on the Surgery Sched template. You can use the Coordinator template for tracking the schedule and clearance of surgeries. You can also generate surgery order documents and patient letters. Coordinator template The following table describes the panels on the Coordinator template. Panel Description Surgery Information You can view the surgery details documented on the Surgery Sched template. You can also include additional details for surgery orders. Medical Clearance You can generate surgery order documents, surgery plan documents, clearance letters, and lab orders. Diagnosis You can view the surgery location, diagnoses, and procedures from surgery orders placed on the Surgery Sched template. Surgery Tracking You can view changes to

Document Diagnoses and Lab Tests

You can document diagnoses and lab tests, and place orders for pre-operative lab tests. On the Coordinator template, in the Medical Clearance panel, click Lab Order 2. The Lab Order 2 template opens. IORTS Lab Order 2 window To add diagnoses to a lab order, do the following: Click DX Codes. The IORTSLabOrder Dx Sx template opens. Note: The Diagnosis grid on the IORTSLabOrder Dx Sx template displays the orthopedic or medical history of the patient depending on the selection at the top of the grid. You can add, edit, and remove diagnoses on this template. IORTS Lab Order SX DX window In the Diagnosis grid, double-click the diagnosis. The selected diagnosis is added to the grid on the right side. Note: You can add up to four diagnoses to the lab order. If you add a diagnosis by mistake, you can remove it by clicking the corresponding eraser icon. Click Save & Close. The IORTSLabOrder Dx Sx template closes. The diagnoses details are added to the diagnosis grid on the Lab Order 2 template.

Adding Patient Notification Details

You can enter the details for the coordinators on the Coordinator template. The following table describes the fields in the Surgery Information panel on the Coordinator template. If you select an option for patient notifications or letters, your name, date, and time are automatically filled in the applicable fields. Field Description Patient Notified To indicate if the patient has been notified about the details of the surgery. You can also use the document icons to generate the following documents. Outpatient Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) patient letter Outpatient hospital patient letter Inpatient hospital patient letter Hosp. Booklet Mailed to Pt. To indicate if the booklet from the hospital has been mailed to the patient. ASC Booklet Mailed to Pt. You can indicate if the booklet from the ASC has been emailed to the patient. Documenting Medical Clearance Details

You can add and track the medical clearance details of a patient for scheduling a surgery. You can document the following medical clearance details of patient in the Medical Clearance panel on the Surgery Sched template. Pre-op clearance Primary care provider Specialty clearance Medications Anticoagulants Bridging RA Medication Instructions Antibiotics Chronic pain management Medical Clearance panel on the Surgery Scheduling template If a primary care provider is added for a patient, the provider name is automatically filled in the PCP field. You must enter a pre-op clearance before signing off or approve the Surgery Sched template. Note: You can configure the picklists for the fields in the Medical Clearance panel. Document Additional Surgery Information

You can document additional information for the planned surgery items of a surgery order. On the Surgery Order Management template, coordinators and surgery schedulers can view and edit the details of surgery orders from the Surgery Sched template. Do one of the following to open the Surgery Order Management template. Select a medical clearance record from the Orders Placed grid, and click Edit in the Place Order panel on the Surgery Sched template. Click Update in the Surgery Information panel on the Coordinator template. Click Update in the Authorization panel on the Pre Auth template. Select a record from the orders grid, and click Edit on the Surgery Scheduling Worklog template. The Surgery Order Management template opens displaying the details of the surgery order from the Surgery Sched template. Surgery Order Management template Update the surgery order as needed. Click Update, and then click Close. The surgery order is updated with the additional information, and the Surgery Ord
