Patient History for Post-Operative Visits

You can associate surgical procedures with post-operative visits, and document a patient's history for post-operative visits. On the Non Billable Visit template, in the History panel, you can associate surgical procedures to the post-operative visit. The Past Orthopedic Surgeries grid in this panel displays the details of the patient's previous surgeries. You can document the following details of the patient for the post-operative visit. Last injection Pain Associated symptoms Ambulatory aids and braces Function and activity levels Sports and hobbies Employer details Medications and allergies History panel on the Non Billable Visit template You can use the Overflow Type section to add additional symptoms, ambulatory aids and braces, and function and activity levels if the fields in their respective sections are insufficient. Preregistration Workflow

You can only initiate the preregistration workflow to document the details of the patient before their visit to the office. The preregistration workflow is to be performed before a patient visit the office. For example, a phone nurse contacts the patient to perform preregistration before the appointment. You can open the preregistration workflow templates using the Pre Reg link on the Home template. The following table describes the templates used in this workflow. Template Description Pre Reg To document the chief complaints, appointment details, patient demographics, and insurance details. You can also generate letters for preregistration of patients. Clinical Approval To document the clinical approval requirements. Billing Approval To document the billing approval requirements. NextGen® Orthopedic Suite Home

You can use the Home template to access all the modules of the NextGen® Orthopedic Suite and view the summary of the medical and surgical history, medications, allergies, injections, and diagnostic tests for a patient. The recommended workflow is to begin a patient encounter on the Home template. From the Home template, you can use the workflow tabs and the links to access various templates of the NextGen® Orthopedic Suite. You can initiate a Scribe Encounter only on the Home template. You can also configure the Home template to exclude the radiology tests with the Cancelled or Error status in the All Internal Radiology Orders grid. Cast and Wound Care Workflow

You can document a patient's history, physical exams, basic assessment, and plan for the cast and wound care. The providers and clinical staff can use the Cast/Wound Care template to document the details of the cast and wound care without using the Billable Visit and Non Billable Visit templates. Cast/Wound Care template The following table describes the panels on this template. Panel Description History To document the patient's surgical history and issues with the cast, brace, splint, or wound. Physical Exam To document issues with the cast area and what was done for the new cast, splint, or brace. Plan To document the details of the basic assessment and plan. Patient Contact Workflow

You can use the patient contact workflow to document and track the basic contact details, test results, and after hours contact details of a patient. The patient contact workflow contains the following templates. Patient Contact. You can document basic contact information such as medication refills and question for the doctor. Test Results. You can track the radiology results, lab orders, and orders from the providers who are relayed to the practice. After Hours. You can track after hours contact such as medical issues and refill requests. You can access the patient contact workflow templates using the Patient Contact link on the Home template. Add Patient Contact Details You can document a patient's contact details, generate the patient contact summary document, and generate the contact letter.
