Panel	Description
Medication Dispensing	You can use this panel to document medications that are dispensed to the patient when the administration is not needed. You can also use this panel to waste a medication.
Medication Dispensing and Administration	You can use this panel to bill for the medication Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes and the administration CPT codes.

Ordering and Administering Immunizations

You can order vaccines, and document immunization information on the MICS Immunizations template. On the MICS Immunizations template, you can use the links and fields appearing above the Immunization Ordering panel to document the preliminary details for ordering and administering vaccines. The first three icons in the QuickPick toolbar are disabled on the MICS Immunizations template, and you can only use the remaining functions in the QuickPick toolbar. The following table describes the panels on the MICS Immunizations template. Managing Medications

You can document the dispensing and administration details of ordered medications on the MICS Med Management template. You can use the MICS Med Management template to document the dispensing and administration details of medications that are ordered from the Medications module and Office Procedures core template. You can also waste medications, and keep a track of medications that are prescribed and filled in-house. For more information on how to order medications on Office Procedures core template, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest My Plan Template Set User Guide forNextGen®Adaptive Content Engine. Before you start documenting the details in the Medication Management panel, you must enter the specialty in the Specialty field. After you enter the specialty, the selected value is defaulted in the Specialty field on the following templates of the NextGen® Medication Inventory Control, and the Specialty field becomes read-only. Documenting Injections and Aspirations

You can document joint injections and aspirations for a patient. On the MICS Injections/Aspirations template, you can document joint injection or aspiration procedures for a patient encounter. You can use the fields appearing above the Procedure Type panels to add the preliminary details for documenting injection and aspiration procedures. The Procedure Type panels have the procedure type automatically selected as injection or aspiration based on the configuration in the Injections & Aspirations Provider Panel Defaults panel of the Admin Configuration template. Documenting Dispensing and Administration Details

You can document the details required for billing dispensing and administration of patient medications in the Medication Dispensing and Administration panel on the MICS Dispensing template. Document Medication Administration for Billing You can document the medication administration details required for billing. Document Administered Medications Manually You can manually document medication administered to a patient in your practice. Document Administered Medications by Scanning the Barcode You can document the medication administered to a patient in your practice by scanning the barcode printed on the medication package. You can use the NextGen® Medication Inventory Control medical record templates to document the administration and dispensing of medications from your configured inventory. You can document medications being dispensed, if you do not need to bill for their administration in the Medication Dispensing panel on the MICS Dispensing template. You can document up to six dispensed medications at one time.
