Administrative Override

Once documentation is complete, the final step is submitting charges. When charges are submitted, the template is locked down.

If you have administrative override rights, you can make changes or document additional information. Administrative override does not remove any charges already submitted; those must be adjusted manually.

  1. Select the Admin Override button to “un-lock” the template.
    The system prompts you to confirm that you want to override charges on this encounter.

  2. Select Yes.
    The Submit button re-appears and the Admin Override button is replaced with red text that says Admin Override.

  3. Do one of the following:
    • Correct any incorrect documentation such as side, site, drug, and lot number by selecting the medication from the Administered Today grid and clicking in the desired fields.
    • Administer additional medications by filling in the information.
    • Waste a medication
    • Clear out information if documented on wrong patient, using the Clear All button and selecting No when asked if you want to waste.
  4. Select Add/Update to save any documentation changes made or to save a new medication dispensed to the administered today grid.
  5. Select Submit to re-submit charges for this encounter.
