Configuring Procedure Information Picklists

You can configure picklists related to procedures, body parts, and locations for several medical record templates. On the Medication Picklist template, you can use the Administering Template Body Part/Location panel to configure picklists for fields related to procedures, body parts, sides, and locations on the following medical record templates. MICS Dispensing MICS Injections/Aspirations MICS Med Management MICS MedAdmin OPH Administering Template Body Part/Location panel By default, the Active option is selected for all grids. When you select an option in the Template field, the grids are displayed in this panel based on the picklist requirements for the selected template. Configuring Manufacturer and Unit Type Picklists

You can configure picklists for the Manufacturer and Unit Type fields used on the Medication & Billing Configuration system template. You can configure the picklists using Manufacturer and Unit Type panel on the MICS Medication Picklist system template. The following grids in the Manufacturer and Unit Type panel displays the picklists for the Manufacturer and Unit Type fields on the Medication & Billing configuration template. Configure a Default Medication Source

You can configure a default source of medication for your practice. The configured default source type appears in the Source field when you select the Medication field on either of the following medical record templates: MICS Injections & Aspirations MICS Dispensing Default source type On the MICS Medication Picklist system template, expand the Source Types panel. Source Types panel for selecting a default source In the Medication Source grid, select the source you want to set as the default. The selected source appears in the field below the Medication Source grid. Select the Default checkbox, and select Update. The default source displays a status of Yes in the Default column. Medication Picklist Template

Each of the panels in the Medication Picklist template has grids that correspond to picklists on configuration templates or medical record templates. Use the grids to configure the picklists for managing inventory and administering medications. Medication Source

Use the Medication Source grid to configure the Source picklist below the Medication Inventory grid in the Inventory Management template. The grid comes pre-loaded with the following sources: 340B (medications tracked/used in the 340B program) Patient (patient-specific medications) Practice (medications billed by the practice) Sample (sample medications) CAUTION: You cannot change the Patient or Practice entries in the Medication Source grid. Adding General Information for Dispensed Medications

You can add general information for documenting dispensed medications on the MICS Dispensing template. The following table describes the fields on the MICS Dispensing template, which are used to add general information for dispensed medications. Field Description Prepared by You can click this field, and select the preparer of the injection from the providers window. Specialty You can click the field, and select an appropriate specialty from the specialty window. After you enter the specialty, the selected value is defaulted in the Specialty field on the following templates of the NextGen® Medication Inventory Control, and the Specialty field becomes read-only. MICS Imms MICS Injections/Aspirations MICS Med Management Sub-Location You can click this field, and select the sub-location for dispensing medications. If you are dispensing medications from multiple sub-locations, you can change the sub-location, as needed. This field appears only if it is configured in the Sub-Location(s) & P
