Update a Picklist Item

You can update an active item in a picklist grid, to change how it appears in the picklist. CAUTION: You cannot change the Patient or Practice entries in the Medication Source grid, nor the Private entry in the Immunization Source grid. Select the item in the grid. Medication Source

Use the Medication Source grid to configure the Source picklist below the Medication Inventory grid in the Inventory Management template. The grid comes pre-loaded with the following sources: 340B (medications tracked/used in the 340B program) Patient (patient-specific medications) Practice (medications billed by the practice) Sample (sample medications) CAUTION: You cannot change the Patient or Practice entries in the Medication Source grid. Configure a Default Medication Source

You can configure a default source of medication for your practice. The configured default source type appears in the Source field when you select the Medication field on either of the following medical record templates: MICS Injections & Aspirations MICS Dispensing Default source type On the MICS Medication Picklist system template, expand the Source Types panel. Source Types panel for selecting a default source In the Medication Source grid, select the source you want to set as the default. The selected source appears in the field below the Medication Source grid. Select the Default checkbox, and select Update. The default source displays a status of Yes in the Default column. Configuring Source Types

You can configure the Source picklist to select the source of medications in your inventory. You can configure the Source picklist used on NextGen® Medication Inventory Control templates in the Source Types panel on the MICS Medication Picklist system template. Source Types panel You can use the Medication Source grid to configure the Source picklist for non-vaccine medications that are added into inventory using the MICS Inventory Management system template. You can use the Immunization Source grid to configure the Source picklist for vaccines that are added into inventory using the MICS Immunizations Configuration system template. You can use the Active and Inactive options to filter the grid content. You can change the status of a picklist value to Active or Inactive using the Toggle button. Adding Immunization Details

You can document the additional immunization details on the MICS Immunizations template. The following table describes the fields used to document the additional immunization details in the Immunization Administration panel on the MICS Immunizations template. Field Description Seq If the vaccine is being administered as part of a sequence, you can click this field, and select the number of the current administration in the vaccine sequence. Note: The Seq field on the MICS Immunizations template is shared with the Sequence field in the Vaccine Details tab on the Immunization module. Booster You can indicate that the vaccine is being administered as a booster. Note: The Booster check box on the MICS Immunizations template is shared with the Booster check box in the Vaccine Details tab on the Immunization module. Access Vaccine Billing While Administering Immunizations

When administering immunizations, you can access the Vaccine Billing option from the Create New/Update Immunizations Order <patient name> window. This enables you to: Map custom VFC SIM codes and other unique Immunization codes. Indicate which VFC SIM code is the VFC default. Note: Once the Immunizations administration is complete, the appropriate billing codes are then sent to NextGen® Enterprise PM for charge processing. Open Immunizations tab from the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Orders module and create a immunizations order. On the Select Vaccines tab, select a vaccine or vaccines. To access Vaccine Billing, from the Create New/Update Immunizations Order <patient name> window, select the button at the top right of the window. A list displays Vaccine Inventory and Vaccine Billing. Select Vaccine Billing. The Vaccine Billing List window opens.
