Update a Picklist Item

You can update an active item in a picklist grid, to change how it appears in the picklist. CAUTION: You cannot change the Patient or Practice entries in the Medication Source grid, nor the Private entry in the Immunization Source grid. Select the item in the grid. Configure a Default Medication Source

You can configure a default source of medication for your practice. The configured default source type appears in the Source field when you select the Medication field on either of the following medical record templates: MICS Injections & Aspirations MICS Dispensing Default source type On the MICS Medication Picklist system template, expand the Source Types panel. Source Types panel for selecting a default source In the Medication Source grid, select the source you want to set as the default. The selected source appears in the field below the Medication Source grid. Select the Default checkbox, and select Update. The default source displays a status of Yes in the Default column. Immunization Source

Use the Immunization Source grid to configure the Source field picklist for vaccines on the Immunizations Configuration template. The grid comes pre-loaded with the following: 340B (vaccines tracked/used in the 340B program) Private (immunizations billed by the practice) VFC (VaccinesFor Children) CAUTION: You cannot change the Private entry in the Immunization Source grid. Configuring Source Types

You can configure the Source picklist to select the source of medications in your inventory. You can configure the Source picklist used on NextGen® Medication Inventory Control templates in the Source Types panel on the MICS Medication Picklist system template. Source Types panel You can use the Medication Source grid to configure the Source picklist for non-vaccine medications that are added into inventory using the MICS Inventory Management system template. You can use the Immunization Source grid to configure the Source picklist for vaccines that are added into inventory using the MICS Immunizations Configuration system template. You can use the Active and Inactive options to filter the grid content. You can change the status of a picklist value to Active or Inactive using the Toggle button. Medication Picklist Template

Each of the panels in the Medication Picklist template has grids that correspond to picklists on configuration templates or medical record templates. Use the grids to configure the picklists for managing inventory and administering medications. Add Medications to the Inventory Manually

On the Inventory Management template, you can manually add non-vaccine medications to the medication inventory. On the Inventory Management template, expand the Medication Inventory panel. Select the Add option appearing below the medication grid. Note: If the Require Invoice #s for Items check box is selected on the Invoice Configuration template, and you select the Add option, the Vendor, Cost, and Invoice # fields appear below the medication grid. After entering the details of the medication, you can add values in the fields. The Received Date field appears displaying today's date if the Enable Received Date check box is selected on the Miscellaneous Configuration template, the medication is received on some other day, and when you select the Add option available under the medication grid. After entering the details of the medication, you can enter the date when the medication is received. Select the Source field, select a source type from the sources window, and then select OK. Not
