Immunization Inventory Set-up	You can use this panel to add, update, and delete immunizations from the immunization grid, and send them to the main inventory. You can import a list of immunizations using a CSV file path, or manually add the details using the fields below the immunization grid. You can also configure the automatic provider sign-off. To add immunizations to the immunization grid, you must add the corresponding National Drug Codes (NDC) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes in your Service Item (SIM) library, and you must have the latest update from the First Databank drug database.
Administration Codes	You can use this panel to configure the administration codes for billing the COVID-19 vaccines. You can also configure the administrative billing override functionality.

Configuring Administration Codes and Administrative Billing Override

You can configure the administrative billing override functionality and administration codes for billing the COVID-19 vaccines. On the Immunizations Configuration template, in the Administration Codes panel, you can use the COVID Billing section to add and update administration codes of the COVID-19 vaccines, and deactivate the existing administration codes. To filter the administration codes in the grid, you can use the fields below the Filters label. You can use the Administrative Billing Override check box to configure the administrative override functionality. Add Administration Codes for COVID-19 Vaccines

The American Medical Association (AMA) has determined a unique Admin Code for each manufacturer and each dose of vaccines. Open File Maintenance. Under Master Files - System, select Vaccine Admin Billing. The Vaccine Admin Billing List window opens. To create the alternatives to be used when recording the unique administration code for each vaccine, select open menu , and then select New. If your practice is receiving both the Pfizer® and Moderna® vaccines, four administrative codes must be built into this file. Note: When recording administration of the vaccines in the Orders module, the system fills the administrative CPT4® code for COVID-19 vaccine based on the CPT code of the vaccine and sequence of dosage and for vaccines with the Administered status. Note: An alternative option for entering Vaccine Admin codes is to add the CPT code to the vaccine inventory entry. This setup works best if you have different lot numbers for doses. Medication Information Configuration

Use the Medication Information Configuration panel to view and add all billable and non-billable medications that are used throughout the NextGen® Medication Inventory Control. Medications added here are the only ones you can add to inventory or configure settings for. Note: The grid in the Medication Information Configuration panel is for non-immunization medications. Order a COVID-19 Vaccine

You can order COVID-19 vaccines through the Immunizations module. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR and then open the Immunizations module. To create an order, select New. The Create New Immunization Order window opens. To select the vaccine from a favorite category, do the following: Select a favorite category from the By Category list. The Select Vaccines section lists vaccines that are included in the selected category. Select a vaccine from the displayed list. To search for a vaccine from the inventory, do the following: Select Search All. The Search Vaccines window opens. Select Search inventory only to restrict the search to the vaccine inventory. Enter the vaccine name, CVX code, CPT4® code, or the CPT4 description, and then select Find. From the displayed list, select a vaccine, and then select OK. Setting up Immunizations Tasks to Streamline Vaccine Billing

To streamline vaccine billing as you complete various Immunizations tasks, ensure that billing administrators and appropriate clinical staff set up your NDC ID codes and SIM codes appropriately. Set up and map Custom SIM Codes for Immunizations Billing Set up Vaccine Billing Administration codes. Before you set up the vaccine inventory, select your practice’s default NDC Library and set up the NDC Library. Note: This enables the system to display the NDC details in the NDC Lookup when you add or update the vaccine inventory; or when you administer Immunizations in the Immunizations module. For accurate billing of alternate Medicare billing codes of certain Flu vaccines, your billing administrators also need to set up the NDC ID codes in the NDC Library. If you administer VFC Immunizations to VFC-eligible patients in your practice, for VFC billing purposes, you can configure unique custom SIM codes for the VFC and non-VFC patients for each location.
